However after the disconnect, charge, reconnect it did take the tune with the hood open.
Could of gotten lucky the polling didnt interrupt the update... Line number 6 in HP tuners instructions:

6.Make sure the doors are closed and all accessories are turned off.

I installed the Detroit Axle Rotors and on a whim, threw on their performance ceramic pads. After 500 miles (I drove to Dumbfuckistan about 360 miles from my house) the pads are just okay. They are quiet and stop decent. However, I dont like how much more pedal I have to use compared to the stock OEM PP pads. However, my GF likes them, and I since I don't drive the SHO much anymore I will leave them on.

So after 1100 miles on the new brakes, everything seems kosher. The pads are less dusty, but the pedal feel isn't what I am accustom to with the stock PP pads. Like I said my GF drives it mainly, so yeah. During the trip the SHO did cross over 100K miles.

Lexus Update: Finally pulled the transmission on the Lexus. Seems after doing some research it seems DOT 3 brake fluid has completely destroyed the inner seal on the slave bearing. Seems to have turned it into goo. I did order another one, and have switched the fluid to VP Racing tractor fluid. All I have to do it put everything back together. Going to try and get that done today, however it is suppose to be 117......FML. I inspected the clutch and everything looked great. Fluid didn't get on the clutch at all.

Lexus Update: I bought another slave/throw out bearing combo from Spec. They build them to order....I got the new slave and installed it. As soon as the new slave got fluid and pressure....it started immediately leaking..... I didn't change anything except swap and bleed. Pulled the trans out again, and inspected the new slave and there was no seal. Called Spec again, they are sending me another one and requested that I return the "new" one back. So yeah. Good thing is..I am getting pretty good at pulling out this transmission....I can get it out in an hour now. FFS.

Lexus update: Working on another DIY Ice Water Sprayer for the Lexus. Going to use the CO2 sprayer and water sprayer together.

I actually started to piece together the components to build a DIY water sprayer for the Lexus. Thinking about spraying the leading edge of the IC then freeze it with CO2? Might work....only one way to find out. I bought a cheap pump with a reservoir off amazon. The reservoir is pretty small so I will ditch that. I will buy some rubber line with the sprayer nozzles off amazon as well. I can tap into the power wire from the CO2 sprayer system (for power and activation). I have a insulated 1 gallon jug like this sitting at home that can be used as the new reservoir and be removable to re-fill..ect....

https://www.grainger.com/product/79...wALNiwV0Nyl2QmdWFB0aAqooEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

Should be a fun and decent project. See what the data says when it is all said and done.

To bad can't get a mod to "sticky" this port and lock it for you to update.

Lexus Update: I am ready to push it into the drive way and light it on fire. Lol. Went out to check on items before I re-install everything. I need to check something in the tune...and now no fuel pump. As soon have you put the key into the ignition cylinder it primes the pump. So when I hooked the laptop to the Haltech and keyed the ignition I didnt hear the pump......

I did have to move some wires to replace the master cylinder. Didn't think that would mess with anything. I guess I was wrong. Pulled the wiring diagram and I am on the search. Checking relays, continuity with wires, ect. From the relays to the fuel pump all the wiring in the hat checks out. So basically it lies between the battery, ignition fuse block (keyed), and the fuel pump fuse block. Need to buy some fuses and a bunch of zip ties so I can go on the endeavor of cleaning this mess up and getting power to the pump again. Happy day.

Lexus Update: Went through everything in the engine compartment and re zip tied wires, tucked wires, moved wires ect. Put the fuel pump back in and buttoned that all up. Under the dash same story. Moved, cleaned, bundled, ect.

I found all of the fuse blocks for the Haltech and replaced all of fuses. None were popped but one was getting melted. I will keep my eye on that one for the future. I even mapped out the power and activation wires for the DIY IC water sprayer I will probably install once I get all of the parts in.

Keyed the Lexus on, and we have a fuel pump again. I didn't completely find the "smoking gun" but I have new areas to keep my eye on if this happens in the future. Once the new slave cylinder arrives today, I will install and put the trans back in. Hopefully she will be on the road tonight. Maybe.....

Lexus Update: Trans is back in and there are no leaks. Rechecked everything and we are good. I did end up shimming the slave back .100 and it really made a difference in how the transmission shifts. Super happy about that. Car started up no problem, I did end up replacing the 20 amp fuse in the fuse block with a 15 that I had laying around just to diagnose. I forgot and when I went to drive down the street...it popped/melted 100 feet from my house. So I pushed it back and replaced with a new 30 amp fuse. I moved the fuse block to a more accessible position so I can monitor it. She started right up and all is well. Driven the car 100 miles over the weekend in 115 degree heat.

However, it seems the down pipe is now hitting the frame and it is incredibly annoying, so it looks like a motor mount has broken. So I will be replacing those now. FFS.

I did order all of the parts for the DIY Ice Water Sprayer yesterday and I went with mister nozzles instead of the windshield washer sprayers. @kryptto posted a couple DIY links and from looking at those, I think the finer spray will work better and help eliminate puddling/leaking onto the ground. Thinking of running an upper set and lower set for the IC. That should give me full coverage across the IC. I was also thinking of running a set between the IC and radiator as well just for some extra thermal protection during the pull. I bought 30 nozzles and 15 feet of tubing...so I could go crazy.

I bought a three switch rocker panel, so that will allow me to use one button for everything. I could use the DIY sprayer or the Cryo Rings separate, or together. Since my steel charge pipe crosses over my turbo and engine, I was also thinking about wrapping that to try to keep it cooler. So yeah. Hopefully when everything is said and done, IAT2's will drop and we can pull some more power out of it. The charge pipe crossing back over the turbo (which has a nice blanket) and engine really heats up the charge air. When I change to the front facing intake manifold, that will really help bring temps down as well.

Holy ****

We all learn from each other, I have to say this... I am not in Phoenix but Palm Beach County FL, the humidity - the heat index is like 105+ I can work outside for maybe 2 hours - then I get nauseous and start losing steam. I do not plan to do a DIY sprayer till closer like Dec of this year. BTW - the misters make MUCH more sense than windshield washer sprayers.

IAT2's will drop and we can pull some more power out of it. The charge pipe crossing back over the turbo (which has a nice blanket) and engine really heats up the charge air.
I got to say - to keep the turbos and intake fuel temps down - we all need to do something to get better performance. I live in a place that averages in the low 80's - its too hot to keep the performance going at those temps.

I am used to the heat. Phoenix is in a record breaking 110+ degree 24 day straight run. 16 of those days have been 115+ and one day was 119. You just learn to take breaks, drink water ect. It sucks, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

Every performance vehicle I drive runs a blend of ethanol. The SHO runs e30, and the Lexus is e50. Only my Ford Focus ST runs on 91, because I do not beat on that car at all. It is my daily, and at 172K miles I haven't replaced anything major on it. Stock turbo, stock clutch ect.

With the Lexus, when it is this hot I usually run 15 psi of boost. It is still snappy and has little to no knock which is good and to be honest I don't really beat on it either. However during fall and winter we have had the boost up to 28 psi (with soft timing). At 28 psi the Lexus is out of fuel injector. Once the temps come down, we will start working on the full timing 28 psi tune. With the Cryo ring, DIY Water Sprayer, and the intake wrap, I am really hoping we can make a dent in the IAT's honestly in this heat, and get them down even more in the colder months.

Lexus Update: So my hunch was correct. Both motor mounts are cooked. The downpipe is hitting the frame. To replace the mounts, you have to raise the motor while sagging the subframe. Yeah not dealing with that. It has an appointment at a shop on Monday.

Lexus Update: Dropped the car off at the shop yesterday. Hopefully it will be a quick turn around. Just two motor mounts....lol. When it gets back, I will start working on the DIY IC water sprayer. I have all the pieces, and the install shouldn't be too difficult. Should be pretty trick and I will post all of the pics of how I did it. Truly can't wait to see the data, since I was disappointed with just the cryo ring set up.
