got the UPR installed. Next will be the noisemaker delete when it arrives. Waiting on powder coating I guess. I’m going to walnut blast the valves to start fresh, and hopefully stay relatively clean with the catch can.
Still haven’t decided if I want to just take it in, or buy the whole set up and do it myself. Looking at it, it doesn’t seem like it would be very difficult at all, just not sure about the cost effectiveness of buying the equipment. Unless I wanna do some walnut blasting on the side haha
In regards to walnut blasting the valves & speaking from experience, you can honestly do it for under $100 if you already have a decent size air compressor.
All you need is the sand blaster & walnut blasting material which you can just pickup on Amazon. This is what I used & it was more than enough.
I will say it’s extremely messy & time consuming depending on how bad your OCD is. I attempted to vacuum while blasting but you can only get so much without a legit intake valve cover like some companies have made for other DI platforms. Also depending on how bad your buildup is you’ll have to use a pick (bamboo bbq sticks work well) but in some cases the buildup was so bad on my valves that I had to use a metal pick. Also cleaning bank 2 (closest to the front of the car) was a real challenge to say the least. Luckily there’s a bunch of YouTube videos on how to go about doing it.

Ok, over a 5 day period.

8/30/22 Had the BG intake service done on my 2016 Ford Taurus. I also changed the oil and filter, and did a drain and refill on the transmission. I don't understand but I drained 9 quarts out of the transmission and put nine back in.

9/3/22 Replaced the spark plugs with standard motorcraft. The gap on the plugs I removed were all over the place. Some measuring as wide as .036. Most were about .032. I gapped the new plugs to .28.

After the BG service the car felt a bit peppier to me, but it could be because I was bias on the service done. But it did. To me it seemed the low speed throttle had a better response.

But after replacing the spark plugs the difference in the idle is day and night. The idle is nice and smooth, so much so that the harshness from the Anthony mounts is hardly noticeable. Also the low speed response on the throttle got even better.

On the transmission I also tried the Amsoil replacement for the Mercron LV. Put in 7 quarts of Ams and 2 quarts of the Ford Mercron LV. Transmission is shifting just fine, and the shifts are very positive.

Ordered PPE Catted Downpipes today with the Ceramic Coating... Looks like two month lead time. I hope they're worth it

Also ordered my epp dual intake and hot pipesd w/stock bov today.

White performance rear swaybar yesterday.

Magnaflow exhaust a few days ago because it seems to sound closest to stock.

I am ready to buy some Coilovers but not sure whether to go with BC or Megan. It looks like the BC can be a pain to adjust and you need to do some cutting to get to the adjustment portion.

I'm awaiting to order the GH 41mm turbos when they're in stock, however, it looks like GH intercoolers are months out.

The livernois look like they bought a GH and knocked it off.

I wouldn't mind doing a front mount if anyone has any recommendations. If I can get something earlier I can upgrade the turbos sooner.

Upgraded Brake kit is on my list as well ...

New to me rims w/ new meats. 20x9.5 RTR Tech 7 wrapped in 275/40R20 Continental DWS06 Plus. Got the rims for $600 after selling the tires that were on them. As for the new tires, long story short I got 6 tires for the price of 4 after the shipping company messed up my order. After dealing w/ that mess I’d definitely recommend Simpletire as they handled everything beyond my expectations. They sent out two tires free of charge. Only thing that sucks is I bought these before my engine decided to blow oil out all over the place… Still going to get them on my car once I install my coil overs just so it’ll sit pretty even though it’s broke, aha.

Took 3 months to get my PPE DPs, worth the wait. You'll like the EPP pipes, for warned the back one will have you in pain and cussing. Coils, stockers will take you far. And here is a link to a guy that does front mount kits for the SHO.

Lifetime warranty on turbos? Not even close to the type of wear and tear a craftsman wrench sees. Can’t warranty wear on turbos never causing problems over time. They’re not even designed to last forever.

With new turbos you should inspect all oil and coolant lines, replace if necessary and or definitely replace all oil and coolant line gaskets. And make sure to use quality oil and change frequently. The sooner the better. Then those turbos have the best chance of lasting as long as possible. IMO.
