Has anyone ever seen these adjustable struts and coilovers before?

Just came across these setups randomly. I know it says for 1996+ but I thought that we use the same for gen 1 2 and 3. Just looking at the picture and from what I remember our strut assemblys to look like to me they look correct, but I could be totally wrong.Anybody have any thoughts or imput? https://www.maxpeedingrods.com/prod...le-1996-2005-adjustable-height-coilovers.html

iirc, the front struts fit into the spindle differently on the 96+ than they did on the earlier ones, but I might not be remembering it right - its been a while since I've had one apart.

First off, they are garbage. A few people have made them work but have then complained about how bad they ride and quality in general.

To make them work, you either need to redrill the strut towers on the car or fab up some kind of adapter to mount them to the strut tower. The bolt patterns are completely different Gen1/2 vs Gen3. Also, the Gen3 fronts have different mounts for the end links. You can make this work by using Gen3 front end links.

In the end I wouldn't waste the time or money.

Is this a daily car? You may not like the ride quality of any coilover on a daily driver. Pretty stiff even at softer settings.

It is a daily car. I'm in my twenties and don't really mind a stiff ride. As long as it hooks+ and it doesn't break over something dumb I good

Save up for repairs and maintenance. These older cars are cheap to get into and can get expensive to stay in. Some parts are getting hard to find and the trans doesn't really like to be beaten on alot. The FWD setup back then was not exactly stout. Enjoy the car!
