Uwe is very selective with who he lets tune his pumps. Not sure if he is scared of LMS getting their hands on one to reverse engineer it, or if he just doesn't want liability of someone messes up a car by not knowing what they are doing.

Even when he did the bulk buy 6 months ago, you had to submit your tuner choice with your order or he wouldn't fulfill.

Who knows. I think is funny that you need to tell him who is tuning your car.....lol. If L** wants to get their hands on his pump there is no stopping them or anyone for that matter.

Yeah, good thing he's a solid guy and his background working for Bosch lends to his credibility. I dont mind him asking about the tuner. As far as I know, he only doesn't deal with LMS or SSI

I have nothing bad to say about him. However, what if I want to buy his pump, and tune my own car? Will he allow that?

I know a couple of guys that have told me that getting info from him is like pulling teeth. Also some lead times on pumps as longer then expected.

Yes, it took forever to get the injectors, but finally got em. He is slow to respond, but that seems par for the course for a lot of aftermarket shops. Not all, but a fair amount...

hardest part for me is paying him. I have ordered 6 pumps in the last 2 months, all customers have received them, yet he's only invoiced me for 2. hard looking at this extra $7k in my bank account wondering when it's gonna go away.

He likely does this due to the importance of a reliable reputation.

Say he sells 100 pumps. 80 of them get tuned by LMS. 20 by others.

Of the ones tuned by LMS, 40 experience catastrophic failure. All 20 of the others dont. But it doesn't matter...in the eyes of the public, he has a fauglty product.

Its why BMW, starting in the 90s, required all maintenance be done at the dealership to maintain warranty. Reputation for reliability in the automotive world is a billion dollar market.

So I pretty much had a final fit last night. Everything seems like it is happy. I have since dissembled it. I need to do some work to the chin spoiler itself. I have to shorten some tabs, that I was over zealous with.

When I modified this chin spoiler I went a little thin on the top for fitment. It isn't bad, and I don't want to fix it. I learned a lot about fitment during this process as well. So this is going to be my test spoiler. I am worried about rocks here in AZ and I am pretty sure this spoiler will take one sooner or later. With that being said, I am just going to prep and plasti dip this spoiler. If is holds up, I will purchase another, make the tabs, and have my buddy paint match it Tuxedo Black. Looking to have everything wrapped up and installed this weekend.

Since the front clip is off the car I have a couple other things I want to do. I need to secure the trans cooler better. I have the brackets and I will work on that as well. I am going to plasti dip some other items behind the grill, so everything is black as well. That should really help things pop, when I reinstall the front clip assembly.

We did? I don't remember that part.

Interesting.

Throw back for Way Back Wednesday! I took my buddy to Gapplebees. My SHO was tune E30 tune only vs his 2016 Mustang GT Auto (bone stock).
