Nah, that's a fair point, @Kevin81. I have a normal two-car garage, so the reality that that will happen is very real. And while we don't have a HOA, I have a feeling that she'll not like the idea of seeing stuff all over the driveway either.

I have enough land to have a second garage, and that's actually the plan, so if I ever build that, that's probably when I'd get a parts car.

So a couple more things sorted.. stock crank, upgraded rods and pistons, and when the heads are off I'm going to clean them up by hand. I'm not porting just changing roughness and casting errors. I have done this a bunch in 2 strokes so I'm familiar with it quite a bit. Basically something free I can do and something I feel comfortable doing. Going to need water pump, timing chain and other gaskets. Oh ARP head stuffs too.

Also going to paint the valve covers and a couple other things. Teardown begins soon! I've got the car positioned properly in the garage and going to enlist "the boys" in the bull shittery this weekend most likely. Already got the front end basically off. Just need to drain fluids before I pull the radiator and what not.

Here’s what you do. Get a replacement motor, send it for that 10 seconds pass and then sell me your downpipes and intercooler! Just kidding... (not really :p).

Best of luck and look forward to what the future holds!

Man... that's dirty!

... but I'd be a liar if I said I wasn't going to offer $6 to get that bumper cover out of his garage for him.

Any weight loss goals while you’re at it?
Not much that really can be done honestly. I will definitely keep an eye out but as of right now the only weight loss being done is to my rod bearing as I suspect from the oil that was what happened. Just a rod bearing got yeeted out of existance

I was somewhat surprised to see you still had the crash bar. Urban legend said you removed that a long time ago.

Lol, I'm surprised at a lot of the things people say they heard I've done

Couple hours a day gets her done. Alternator off, AC off, wiring harnesses most the way out. Just gotta pull the front turbo and manifold, torque converter bolts, trans bolts and the engine mounts and she will be free. Couple Misc things like the passenger side axle mount and the downpipes still gotta go too. Sure I will find more.

You're a far braver man than me. That makes my balls go up into my stomach just looking at it.

Slow and steady wins the race. I'll have to be where your at when I finally get my built motor as well. But I did this for a frame up build on a Harley. Tore it down to the bones and built it back up. Had a million zip lock bags with labels and about 25 totes on a shelf I bought specifically for the build, lol.

Went from this:

Down to this:

Back up to this:

With about a gazillion photos in between. Not a single bolt was left untouched (quite literally, switched every piece of hardware on the bike to Diamond Engineering hardware), motor was completely gutted and pumped up along with the transmission...was a 2.5 year project, but was overseas for about 13 months of that though, lol...

Made a cool time lapse of the motor build up, man, was tough to remember the positioning with that time span on this, made marks on the work bench and camera placement location to keep it standard...

Sorry, pretty sure I just hijacked your thread. Damn, there I went and did it again... :(
