Yeah, turbos are legally mufflers in some states for state sound exhaust inspection. I could see larger ones letting more sound through.

I wanted to do this setup but now I don't know. I already have the MRT exhaust installed on the car... Guy from Michigan made a Youtube video with the same setup (Livernois catless DP) and it sounds a lot more tame than that. Wish someone else has some experience with this exhaust. Also if you know anyone who had a Canadian car with black wrapped roof, MRT exhaust and Diablosport wallpapers saved to the car, hey I bought your car

X pipe hooked up where? I'm not trying to delete the resonator. Personally I'm not a fan of glasspacks.

The third cat and stock resonator are a restriction. However, you can purchase a Magnaflow Resonator with a built in x pipe.

How much with that change the sound? I want the downpipes for sure.

Not much. The stock mufflers are not a restriction and keep things sounding good and quiet. I have PPE catted DP's with a custom mid pipe setup with MagnaFlow resonator running through stock mufflers. Sound isn't much different than stock.

So you think if I followed your setup it would sound raspy with the MRT axle back? I want it louder just not raspy, and I want to work with what I have.

All of the aftermarket catback exhausts for the 3.5EB motors across the platform all sound like garbage and are raspy. These motors just dont have a mass appealing sound.

I have video clips of how my car sounds in my build thread.

Honestly the best mod for sound on these cars.......Anthony's Upgraded TQ mounts. They completely change the sound of the car in the cabin for the better. They also do wonders for wheel hop, launches, and shifts.

I'll take a look, I always get sound opinions before I do anything. Right now the MRT sounds good by itself. I'll contact Anthony as soon as I can, I'm waiting to get a powerpack and downpipes before I pick up his trans mounts. I really like how this sounds though. (Not my video, just sharing)

I’ve always been under the impression that the H was ideal for old Fords specifically due to the firing order, but modern benefited more from X.

Unfortunately, all my knowledge (marginal at best) of exhaust theory is out the window with forced induction.

still waiting for that link. ;)

Zpak, if your knowledge bank is based off forums, parents or grandparents or just old track guys (like my has been) then you should really watch this show. Things I swore by have gotten proved wrong.. For example, single y pipe 3" makes more power than dual 2.5" exhaust. And it makes more along the WHOLE curve. You tell that to an old school guy and he'll laugh at you.

Engine Masters did a bunch of cool stuff however, they never really dabbled into turbo exhaust set ups. As we know the best N/A exhaust setups isn't always the best for an FI setup. There is a reason most turbo guys elect a hood or fender dumps on their street cars. That being the least amount of back pressure.

That being said, I picked up almost 25 ft of tq when I added my custom straight pipe mid pipe set up. I want to add an X pipe to it as well. In theory the X's more scavenging ability would work better on a turbo set up because of the increase exhaust volume and the speed of the pulses going through the exhaust pipes. I will test this theory on the dyno, because I do want to incorporate an X pipe into my custom set up.
