there are people who put up their time slips and dyno sheets.... well and then there are the others.
I have a huge stack of time slips from this year :)

Experience without facts is just hearsay... Opinions mean nothing if they haven't been tried. How we went from fastest 5th gen to discussing the things pro mods do to run 7s baffles me...

My SHO is plenty fast enough for a touring sedan. It's also fun for flashlight drags. Beyond that, I've accepted its limits and flaws. I enjoy the comfortable ride and the occasional stoplight joust, but I have no desire to mod it anymore.
That doesn't mean I don't want to watch others push it and dump cash into it. I'm willing to watch people set records or blow everything up trying.

Because you can make anything work on paper Lee. Here in the real world with tried and true methods we have the facts. We know x × y = z on this platform. If it was so easy everyone would be going really fast.

I agree 100% with this statement.

If I wanted to go fast I wouldn't have spent my money on my SHO. For the amount spent on it, I could have had a 9 second ls swapped mustang fox body.

However, I can't on a whim get in the Mustang and drive cross country or daily it. When my SHO runs consistently in the high 11's full weight I will be happy. Pretty sure I am only a fuel pump way right now.

So yeah....love the SHO, but it is a touring sedan that just so happens to be quick. I love the look when my SHO wrecks people at a stop light.

Now...a IS 250 with a 2JZ GTE paired with a six speed may be in my future so....

I'm ready to see a 5.2 flat plane Miata swap.

I agree, there are so many cool engine and rolling chassis combos out there right now.

**** I would love our 3.5 stuffed into my Focus ST. I would convert it to rear wheel drive, and mate it with the new 10 speed.

That car would rail. My motor with only 18% drivetrain loss would put 440 hp and 560 tq to the tire in a 3300 lb car. That is my idea of fun.

That's the best thing about a swap, eliminate the weak points of a platform. I never understood why they don't make wilder combinations. I mean honestly who hasn't wanted a bigger engine in the focus? I've always been addicted to the sound of the Porsche sixxers but Id settle for any power to weight ratio that was similar to a viper.

If money wasnt an issue, I would fix my SHO. I would keep the 3.5 mate it to a 10 speed, put a 8.8 IRS in the rear. Then work on a transfer case set up (like a GTR) and have on demand front wheel drive. That is how they should have come.

Exactly right except I'd swap the f150 3.5 in. Better turbos and better variable timing.

Theres a 2jz-e swapped miata on youtube. Thing is nutz. Also a hellcat engine swapped one is big right now. I originally wanted to do a 3.5l ecoboost swap for the miata but the engine with turbos is way to wide, but now i see they make a plug and play manual tranny for the 3.5l ecoboost for swaps. I didnt see it when i started the miata project last year

Im sure Jordan will pass 10 soon. I did read awhile back that the Davis Unified Ignition coils for ecoboost are almost double whp of the msd. And im not sure on his mods but if look around enough you can find little adds on like throttle bodys for the sho or get the 60 hpfp and see if it can run higher ethanol than an e30 tune that isnt really safe but for around 10seconds maybe. To go along with nos or meth. Plenty of theories but they are untested for drag racing as far as i know

I've wondered if the new lpfp an xdi 60 and new injectors could run just straight e85.

Me too. I know they are doing it to great success in the F150’s. But, all I’ve ever read is it’s never worked in the SHO. I know the two are not identical engines but aside from beefed up this and that I don’t get what twisting it sideways changes as far as what fuel it can run.

I’d be happy to be enlightened on the subject.

Jordan and I dont have to feel threatened. We have both done the leg work and researched what we speak about with knowledge on this platform. People like Shodded, BPD, and 802SHO just off the top of my head have also contributed (even more then I have) here as well. We pool the knowledge and can tell you pretty much what to do and what to expect.

When you newbs come on here and ask the same damn questions all the time, it gets cumbersome. Use the search function, guarantee it has been discussed numerous times.

Then you want to fight with us. Jordan has the fastest and quickest EcoBoost SHO, yet you want to argue with him. Talk smack when you set the mark. I have literally spent 100's of hours and a bunch of money documenting my build and giving the members here real world results both with dyno numbers and track times. Ask anyone, I am willing to help anyone and I try to answer the mundane questions.

What have you two done except SHO your ass?

And therein lies the problem. You guys think that you're omniscient and get pissy the instant somebody challenges your statements instead of bowing before you. :hail:You talk about pooling knowledge, well that's what I'm trying my best to do here too. But everytime I try to make a point about something one of you guys starts flinging poo like an agitated chimp. I sure as **** don't know it all, but neither do any of you.

I use the search function plenty, and I've read a ton of threads here before I even joined. There's a lot of good info, and an equal amount of complete garbage. Don't confuse someone's shoforum seniority as making them God's gift to motorsport.

What exactly is it anyone's accomplished here, anyway? Spent money and (sometimes) installed their parts themselves? Sent an email for someone else to tune their car for them? Are these supposed to be impressive skillsets? ****, can everyone in the supposed brain trust here even say they were in their car when it made its fastest pass?

Having even 100,000 timeslips doesn't immediately prove that someone knows how to read or interpret them. Especially when they're arguing about the big end but their track doesn't even have 1000' times...

The notion that a 4-5 shift eats up anywhere close to .2 seconds of et is absolute bunk. It's not theory: traveling x distance at y rate of speed takes z seconds whether it's a taurus, a corvette, or even a damned school bus. No amount of flaming on either side will change that.

Way back, I think probably around 2003, there was a focus at the track with a pushrod 5.0 in it. IIRC it wasn't terribly fast, but cool to look at nonetheless.
