I’ll say it again—holy crap!!! I never thought just a tuner could make such a difference. It’s not even the same car anymore. It’s a beast. Just drove it the first time tuned and nailed it out of a steep corner like I’ve done 100 times before. I almost lost it. I wasn’t expecting it to lurch out of the apex like that with all 4 tires fighting for traction and it making a bee line for the ditch. Can you say holy friggen torque steer? You have to be careful with these things on the street tuned. It’s trying to **** me like my coyote 5.0 Mustang now. Lol

There's that "torque vectoring" thing going on too, where it squeezes the caliper on the inside front wheel to "help" it make the corner. It took a while for me to get used to that with my 2013 when I first got it. Felt like it wanted to go into the ditch ;)

For sure a totally different ride! I hit the rev limiter a few times right out of the gate and LMS was quit to help. big thing is turning off the tcs on a hard dig.

The car is so quick, it just seems wrong. It has to be just about as quick as our stock 12 Mustang GT. I can’t believe these things hold up making this kind of power. After pulling it in the garage, something I noticed from maybe 8 minutes of driving last night was a strong oil like smell that I have not smelled before. I did spill a bunch of coolant all over the place when installing the thermostat so maybe I’m smelling that burning off. It almost seemed to be coming from the exhaust though. I’ll have to drive it a little more and see. I hope I didn’t break something after 8 minutes of driving.

Or possibly your PTU overheating slightly and what you were smelling was venting out the top cap of the unit itself.

That is entirely likely because I was running the **** out of it. Even did a couple power brake launches. I normally don’t do stuff like that. Was just trying to get a feel for it. Just drove it again with father in law just a few minutes ago and didn’t notice anything strange this time. Got a “holy sh*t” from him, and he has a 5.0 Mustang, so it’s not like he hasn’t been in a fast car before.

Gear **** has a distinctive nasty smell when it burns or is sludged up.

Ive done some awd burnout with car. Enough for it to say awd off because it was overheating. Then just in fwd mode its no traction through 3rd gear on new eagles. Their tune made my car nutz man. Feels like alot more than 400whp because of how big and heavy the car. Makes my jaw drop everytime. I hope to do meth injection and turbos one day. But right now i got some engine issues to work out :mecry:
I highly suggest you invest in a catchcan if you dont already got one installed. And maybe a oil change every 3k miles with new tune. I had to learn the hard way. Car is wayyy more fun with tune but it needs more maitenence also

I was playing on 795 in maryland with a blacked out newer mustang gt suped up on the highway. Doing well over 130mph. Enough that i didnt know how fast i was going. I kept paddleshifting down to get to highrpm and shift again and i just kept pulling from him. When we slowed up, he went by me at normal highway speeds flashing his lights. I thought to myself, i learned him good. Gained some more respect for the SHO badge. He probly couldnt beleive that i kept up with him with our big ass sedan

I didn't realize that was possible .

Mine isn't tuned but I just had the oil changed and was hitting pretty hard and thought I smelled something like oil. I only smelled it once though .

Well, shit, I guess I have to get a tune ;)

That's without a doubt the biggest regret I had when buying my MKS. I should have tuned it from day 1. Now some 33k miles or so later after tuning it, it still puts a smile on my face.

I have never smelled oil in this car. The PTU smell is more like propane than oil.

Your not too far from me, one launch from a dig and you will be ordering a tune.

Ha Ha Ha I too wish I would have done it sooner and if you go for a ride as offered you can call and order the tune on the way back to your car....

That oil smell is probably your ptu leaking. The gear oil drips down onto the exhaust. It happened to mine the PTU's in these cars are junk. They replaced the seals in mine twice. My car is currently in the shop now getting a whole new ptu installed. My car only has 65k miles on it. I also would change my ptu fluid every 10-15k miles. Junk man.

You have an extended powertrain warranty? I am not a warranty guy but these cars are an exception due to design weaknesses
