How big of a difference can be expected between just the Livernois Tune with no new HW vs. doing the 3 bar MAP, thermostat, plugs and CAI. Their site does not really say what the difference in performance will be. For just the tune it say's:

Gains of over59hp and 88tq on your otherwise stock vehicle $600

and with the tune plus HW it say's:

We get gains of 60 whp and 75 wtq! Livernois Motorsports Exclusive Tune. $1000

Doesn't seem to make sense. It looks like the tuner + 3bar MAP is really all you need to get to really get the most bang for the buck. Any thoughts on this?

Oh, is the tune only talking HP/TQ at the crank? That would translate to 48HP and 70TQ @ the wheels although not a huge difference for $400.

LMS advertises HP/TQ to the wheels. So those numbers are after a 24% loss to the AWD system. Not bad IMHO...

There is a difference in which tunes they provide with and without a 3BAR and T-Stat....

I personally have tried several different tunes they offer and the best 1/4 mile times are with the tunes supporting the 3BAR and Thermostat...

For the extra $400 it’s worth it... you can get the 3BAR sensor and plugs cheaper on rock auto. 3BAR is about $45 on Rockauto and the plugs are Motorcraft SP-534 which come pre-gapped at .030.

I have not tried both but the consensus seems to be it's worth doing the 3bar and stat. The CAI has been shown not worth anything, some people like the extra turbo sounds but get a drop in K&N in the stock air box and you're fine. StealBlue said you can source the 3bar elsewhere as it is a Ford part and same as the MAP on the SHO before the throttle body and the plugs are standard Motorcraft just with the gap checked which anyone doing plugs should be able to do. There is something to be said for supporting a vendor that supports a low volume car like this but it's your money spend it how you want.

Also if you find a used LMS my cal, the cost is significantly less. I got my whole set up, tuner, 3 bar, plugs, JLT catch can (and assorted other goodies) for $300.00. Then had LMS reflash the unit, another $300.00, but that included the new tstat. Still learning her, but the monster does get down the road nicely now.

Thank for all the info. I am still debating if I want to go thru with it and risk my warranty should anything major let loose.

I don’t use livernois but I’ve been tuned for over 60k miles and have over 100k on the car with a couple hundred passes at the track. Nothing is going to let lose.

Most likely you will be fine, proper maintenance and care go along way towards a reliable car tuned or not. Use a reputable tuner, Livernois is one, there are others but at least one you couldn't pay me to run their tune. Change the oil regularly, preferably with quality synthetic. Don't beat on it until it's fully warmed up especially in the winter. Don't shut it off just after a hard run, let it cool down a little.

Well the three bar will allow your car to recognize more boost. Always check with your tuner as to what ur plugs should be gapped. I would recommend going with a reputable tuner but I’m not sure who uses the diablo to tune. I’m lazy and order my plugs from brew city boost pre gapped. Good guys over there. Ajp on ecoboostperformance, brew city boost and unleashed are 3 that I can for sure recommend

Stock 2 bar should take the tune without issue. You will need a 3 bar specific tune or it will run like crap. Stock is about 8 pounds most 2 bar tunes crank that up to 12-14 and the 3 bar allows it to go way past it but the turbos arent super efficient after that. I’ve seen 22psi on mine.
