I didn't really intend to run the SHO tonight, as my goal was to see what my old 2005 Saab 9-3 2.0T/5speed could produce down the 1/4 mile. But after she got off work, the wife drove it down to meet up with me and the kids and I figured, why not run it?

I let it cool off for about an hour before bringing it up to the staging lanes. Tried a 2000rpm launch, but only got a 2.06 60ft. Car felt strong, but only just barely beat my best. Came away with a 13.62 at 103.47mph. While the E/T was only slightly better, the mph did increase. DA was only 600ft this time around. Still waiting for those negative DA numbers, then I can really see some gains

Those numbers are very good. Your car is 100% stock, correct?
Yes, car is bone stock (except for the Mobil 1 oil changes, and car seats in the back).

Hoping for some low 13s in negative DA... but this warm weather is just hanging on for dear life. Normally I wouldn't complain, but for a drag racer looking for best ET/mph... it sucks!

Pretty good runs for stock. Try dropping a few PSI in the tires next time to help your 60'.

What did the Saab run?

I did drop the psi a little... lowered it to around 28psi. Will try raising the launch rpm a bit next time.

Saab ran a 15.0 at 94mph. 60ft was 2.3... if I can launch it a little better, it’s a solid 14 sec car. Kinda surprised me.

Temps are going to be amazing this Friday... high is 41 and the low is 22. Will be bringing both cars back.

EDIT: WOW... the DA right now (Friday morning) is -1400. Can’t imagine what it’s gonna be like tonight. Gotta find a sitter for the kids so I can take advantage

Darn... drove all the way up to Cecil on Friday night ready to make some record breaking runs... DA was an unreal -2300ft!!! Got there, and the gates were locked and the track was pitch black. Checked the schedule, and they were supposed to be open?

I did a google search that lead me to their Facebook page (I'm not on Facebook) that stated they were closed due to "extreme temperatures". WTF?!? Don't they know that this kind of weather is what drag racers dream of? Apparently, Atco was closed for the same reason also. I remember 15 years ago, Cecil wouldn't have closed due to a little cold weather. Oh well, theres always next weekend I guess

I would slap my sweet momma for a negative DA track day! Never experienced one!
