Tune and that's it. Was hoping to hit 12's but battled a headwind all three runs of about 15 - 20 mph. DA was around 1080 from an online calculator. How do I improve to hit the 12's?

Launch around 1800 rpms, keep your engine cool in-between runs, don't go through the wet box, turn off grannies... What do you have done to the car aftermarket wise? Tuned?

Just a tune from unleashed. Revised I think 5 times now. Launched at around 2300 rpm. Lower rpms were netting slower times and 60' around 2 seconds. Launched at 2800 rpm one time and ended up with a faster 60' but overall time was about a tenth slower.

So with just a tune, 1000+ DA, and 15-20MPH headwinds... you netted just about a flat 13? Not too shabby... better track conditions would have gotten you into the high 12's... thats about average from what I see with tune only cars... high 12's... some mid 12's if its a fast track... only one to two low 12's tune only.. but those are factory freaks if you believe in that..

Stock cars launch around 2200 rpm, tuned between 1800 and 2000 rpm. Depends on the rubber, but lowering tire pressures may break that deadlock, mid to high 20s IIRC. The headwind took away the 12s from you.

When you guys launch at 2000 rpm do you even chirp the tires? Launching at 2000 rpm in my car didn't even chirp the tires. Have general g-max on all 4 right now. Was at 34 psi for best pass.

Are you tune only? On phone so can't see your tag. I had traction control off and still barely chirped them. Will upload a video.

No, all bolt ons, 3 bar AJPturbo tuned.. I get wheel spin at 4500 rpms from just mashing the accelerator... If I drop the pressure in the tires by 5 psi and launch around 1700-1800 I spin but not as bad..

Yeah their sidewalls are pretty soft, so don't want to lower too much.

I'm running the same tires (g-max)and at factory pressures I also spin a lot.
I launched at 2200 to get my best times.
I reduced down to 28 and that helped considerably.
My tires are 2 years old now but still have plenty of tread left.

Next up is a 100 octane tune. How much time you think will be picked up with a 100 octane tune?

Octane can make a pretty significant difference, especially with aggressive tunes. I have seen slips where going from 87 to 94 nets you 0.5 in the quarter mile (Fiesta ST). Of course, there is a lot of timing available in that range, not sure from 93-100 how much is there.
