Staying with the stock size 20", is there a tire that excels in quarter mile times or are most brands equal in that category?

I think you will find tire setup and track prep to have larger effects on performance, because some of the best results have been achieved with tires that are NOT ranked at the top of the list in grip/speed rating/etc. That said, Michelin Pilot Super Sport and Continental DWS have been perennial favorites. The DWS series has a slightly softer sidewall and MAY allow it a bit of an advantage when brake launching.

Tire setup? Please elaborate.

Tire pressure, different sized tires front to rear, etc. Avoid the water box with AWD.

EDIT: In response to Pintony's post below -
You can run different sized wheel/tire combos F/R as long as we are still within the overall height tolerance, that is correct. I was thinking of a Flex that EcoPowerParts used to track that had this setup:
17x8 +45 wheels with 275/50/17 MH drag radials up front and 235/60/17 rears installed

Trying to say is I'm ready to buy some summer perf tires and was thinking one brand may do better at the dragstrip than another from members' experience.

In my experience...

Basically a stock car with a tune and the hated Goodyear RSA'S on it was managing a 1.77 for my 60'. This included avoiding the water box, wiping tires clean in the staging lanes, and adjusting psi.

Put on coilovers and Hankook Ventus V12 Evo 2's and see 1.75 for a 60' quite often.

So, not much of a difference.

I think it comes down to your preparation because I've seen guys struggle off the line with all the good tire setups out there.

Hello SHOnUup4,
What are your overall thoughts on the Hankook Ventus V12?

I like em...so far.

They did well at the road course and are pretty good at the dragway.

They aren't the quietest tire, but ride well and only time will tell on the wear factor.
