2010 Looses heat at idle

Hi guys Im new here. Just bought a 2010. 120k. Noticed recently that at a light or at an idle, The cabin heat diminishes. At rpm it comes back. I let it idle and it doesnt overheat. I let it idle with the cap off and didnt see any bubbles. It doesnt use coolant or overheat.

Can someone point me in the right direction. Thanks.

Had this happen with mine, coolant level was just below the full line, added water and the issue went away. Check yours and should solve it.

If you add water, make sure it's distilled water. If adding coolant (premixed, 50/50), add the correct coolant for your SHO. The coolant could be Specialty Green or Specialty Orange, so check carefully to make sure. Assuming of course, an aftermarket coolant is not currently in the system.

Everything seems fine other than it still looses heat. It has been run over 20min after being driven and does not overheat. Just as a test, i pulled both hoses off the heater core and ran water though it. No issues there. Next i will replace the thermostat. Its maddening.

A Lisle spillfree funnel comes in handy in stubborn situations. Changing the TStat may or may not help, may even aggravate the situation if air bubbles get trapped behind it.

I had a similar problem with my 2011 PP SHO. When it was cold out, while I was driving there was heat. When I came to a stop, just cold air. Took it to the Ford dealer and they fixed the problem. It was diagnosed as the right damper motor electric failure.
FP- NUMBER (1) AA5Z-19E616C DESCRIPTION- MOTOR ASY Y. I got it covered under warranty, so I don't know how much it cost. It cured the problem and after 26K miles it hasn't acted up.

Same here, I just topped it up a little over the fill line and it's been OK a few years now. Heat works again just fine.

No, never heard of someone using that programmer. I would spend a little more money for a reliable tune from Unleashed or Livernois. Search function will find info about it.

My 2010 should did this so, I had the coolant flushed and the thermostat replaced. The problem didn't go away right away but after about 1000 miles it did. Go with a livernois tuner you won't regret it.

Well SHOdded, You really helped me out with my NEW "to me" 011 SHO.
Having the same problem as BAD007SUZUKI. No Heat At Idle.
Was out early this morning getting my Cell Phone paired with the Ford Sync.
Will try topping off when it gets daylight. Also thank you for the heads up on the type coolant or distilled water.

What coolant should I use to add to my 011 SHO?

Per the owner's manual, should be Motorcraft Specialty Green. Hopefully the coolant is original to the car.
