New girl with a SHO

Okay so I spent the better half of my Saturday wearing blue gloves and washing, claybar (I hope I never have to do that again!) and waxing.

So while it was so clean, naturally, I had to then call my friend over today for her to come take some pictures for me!! We had a blast! But!!... while detailing, I noticed one of the little sections of the front air dam (not sure what it's called...but the lowest section on the passenger side) is pushed in. I tried pulling it back out so the clips would snap, but no luck. Anyone ever had this issue? Or know how to fix...oh please tell me the front bumper does not have to come off?

I did promise better pics, here are a few...see the straight on shot for the air dam thingy. Someone please help!!

Car looks great! Claybar really helps. I hope you put wax or sealant on directly after so you don't have to do it again. Keep that wax/sealant level high

I did do the waxing right after claying.

And OMG, I have never seen that before...Larry is OCD like me!! I watched the whole thing.

NOW I see it!

Those bits are pretty flexible, so all you have to do is get the right size putty knife or even two, a piece of plastic or something to use for leverage, and pry the vent portion back into place. You'll have to be more forceful than you think you want to be with it, but it'll work. Careful you don't break a nail!

The new foster baby is looking good! I used to have a set of toothbrushes just for my car...so I know the trials and tribulations of having OCD LOL.

As for the air dam you can put tape on the paint and convince the plastic air dam piece to come forward to meet the bumper again.

If prying it forward doesn't work...you should be able to detach that plastic piece directly behind the lower grille from underneath and then get access from there to push back into clips.

That OCD can cause you problems when a shopping cart hits your car. I am waiting for my first ding with my nice 2013.

Can we multi-quote here? But anyways, thanks! Oh goodness, I don't have any toothbrushes, but I do have a few of those wheel style brushes and I have the nice wool mitt for washing. Have you ever seen the multi-bucket system like that video? That was the first I have heard of that... that is pretty cool. I just dump and refill with fresh soap and water. I tend to buy Turtle Wax Zipwax wash as that was my Dad's choice... I wonder if I should upgrade to buying those soaps from those detailer websites? Decisions Decisions!?

Nooooooo, park in the boonies. I always park in the back and walk. I don't trust anyone with their car doors or shopping carts. Restaurants are tricky when they have small parking lots. Then it's all a gamble! I kid you all not, I was at Chick-fil-a, actually in the drive thru a few years ago in my previous 2012 Taurus (SEL) and a guy in a Mustang bumped me. He said he just learned how to drive a stick... not sure if that was true or he just wanted my name & number Like you just hit me, and you think I will give you my personal info!? No way jose, but I did get his insurance info... never called. He was going like 1 mph... so there was no damage.

I use that multi bucket system. It makes it really easy to keep everything clean! I use this stuff that comes from a local Michigan guy that he makes himself...HANDS DOWN best cleaning system ever! I will get the name of it and the guy and PM it to you. It is pretty inexpensive to boot!
