2013 SHO COA finally available

Simply go to:

www.fordshowparts.com

You will find a menu on the left side of the page for various performance model Fords. Click on "certificates of authenticity" and then on the next page "Taurus SHO". Today they finally updated the menu to include 2013 COA's. $45 + $10 shipping, for what it's worth. You can also order an original Ford window sticker if you need one for your SHO. I have been checking the website since we bought our car on March 25 and I have no idea why it took this long to upload the 2013 production numbers. But alas, finally!

The COA designates how many 2013 SHO's were produced, where your car ranked in order of production, how many of your color were made, when made, where made, etc. It is signed by Edsel Ford. And it makes a very nice display item and conversation piece at car shows/cruise-ins sitting in the seat or on the dash of your SHO.

You often see these posted on Mustangs at car shows. Those guys are always shocked that we can get these for the SHO too.
I know a Cadillac engineer who was taken back that these were available to SHO owners. He said that V owners cant even get these build numbers, much less a cert.

Yes, this is great news to finally have access to a 2013 cert. It will be interesting to see how many 2013's were produced as I know the production numbers for 2010 to 2012 from reading older posts.

Received my COA today. 7592 total SHO's built in 2013. Quite a jump from 2012. Mine is number 1700 of 3200 black SHO's produced. Also number 3879 of 7592. Assembled 9/5/2012. Black is by far the most produced SHO of that year according to the breakdown. There were about 79,960 total Taurus's sold in the US for the 2013 model year. I found that number on the goodcarbadcar.net web site. Roughly 4000 were sold in Canada.

I received my 2013 COA as delivered by UPS yesterday afternoon.

Here's the final 2013 year model production numbers by exterior color:

Blue: 280
Red: 1231
White 1291
Black: 3200
Gray: 638
Silver: 547
Green: 405

Our SHO was manufactured 8-8-2012, #3152 of 7592 total SHO's and #127 of 280 manufactured in Deep Impact Blue. Included with the COA is a Ford Performance spec sheet that breaks down every option available for that year as it relates to how many of each option applied to each color category. 273 SHO's were sold in Canada and another 153 were exported elsewhere.

Would be interesting to see if a steady mix of colors was maintained throughout the cycle, or if there were adjustments based on demand, for instance.
