Congratulations to everyone that took delivery on their SHOs  I'll be joining that crowd, I'm getting mine today at 2:30! My buddy stopped by and picked up the BFGs I'm replacing the Goodyear F1s with when they dealer prep the car. My '10 SHO is a non-PP, it'll be interesting to see the difference, I got the new one with the PP. Anybody want some Goodyear F1s cheap :D

Just curious, why are you replacing the F1s?

The F1s didn't fare too well with customers in cool/wet climate in the traction ratings. The Taurus brochure even has a disclaimer that these tires should not be used under 40F. The BFGs got raving reviews from Motor Trend and Road & Track and are used in Skip Barber's racing school. They're far less expensive than the Michelin Pilots and the Pirelli's.

Ah OK I see. I currently live in Ohio, but in moving to Alabama for work, so I never thought about tires too much. The summer rubber will be OK for me 95% of the time, and I can always take the wife's Explorer in the rare case we do get some snow.

Got the call today from my dealer that my car has arrived. Will be picking it up tomorrow afternoon. Ordered 6/8, built 6/24, delivered to dealer on 7/23. Took a month to go from Chicago to Detroit sitting in some shipping yard. Save for the shipping time, pretty fast turn around from order dropping to production and right in line with dealer estimate of 6-8 weeks. Hope anybody else waiting on a 2015 gets good news shortly.

I was told by my sales guy that Ford was offering almost $10K in incentives on the Taurus for Red Carpet Leasees for the month of June. That was on June 4th. By the time I completed the lease paperwork and picked up my Tuxedo Black non PP SHO on June 29th, there were no more to be found in a 300 mile radius of Detroit (supposedly). I can't complain much because I got a modern car with some luxury touches, that is almost as fast as my '08 Bullitt, and drives rings around the 15 year old beater that I was driving. All of that for less than $400.00 a month!

New to the forum. My order was place 6/5 , but not built until last week (7/15). Haven't heard from my dealer yet on shipment, but was hoping for 2 weeks considering it's Chicago to Novi, Mi. Seeing as yours took 4 weeks doesn't give me too much hope.

Welcome J5V and congrats on the new car. What dealer did you go through? I think might have gotten lucky.

I'm thinking the deep impact blue and suede multi-contoured seats dropped mine further back in the production run. Dealer contacted me upon order submittal looking for a secondary color...

Ordered from Holzer Ford.

Maybe that and summer shut down slowed it down? Holzer is a big volume dealer too (I live in Northville so I am familiar with them). Hopefully not to much longer for you. Thumbs on representing the MAC too.

Possibly. I forgot that they just launched the 2016 Explorer there at CAP too.

Thoughts go out to CMUs football coach.

Stopped by the dealer lot yesterday to see what they had in stock. Looks like they've received a couple with my same order and blend date already. AND they were sequenced after mine...so I left my salesman a message this morning to see where my car is. Hopefully I get it this week.

Funny you should mention 7/23 That's when I took delivery of my 14 SHO from Columbus. Build date 5/223/14 Shipped to Ohio Dealer traded to another OH dealer and at my selling dealer since at least March 23rd ish 20q15 plus whatever time it was on lot before that. Literally 16 months from build to retail delivery.

FYI guys, when we were out for the tour of the Chicago plant, they are already building 2016 Taurus. Same as the current car.

Correct. I believe they're at MP1 for the China Taurus? Not sure how that export affects the shipment of my car though, if at all. My dealer got back to me this afternoon saying mine was produced on the 17th and waiting for shipment.

Hopefully soon then J5V.

I couldn't be happier with my car. Can't wait to get it broken in and open it up. Can tell the car really wants to run. Wish I would have pulled the trigger sooner. I was talking to a ford engineer today who works in Dearborn and although he wouldn't confirm exact specs of the gen 5, said it's safe to say around 415hp and 200-300 lbs lighter than the current car. That hp # (415-450) is around what the next gen raptor 3.5 will have. So it's possible the 3.5 that ford is using in the upcoming raptor will have very similar power numbers.

Wow 2011taurussel 16 months is a long time for the car to be waiting for a new owner. Hope by then the dealer was motivated and cut you a an awesome deal to get it off their lot.

The next gen raptor will also have the 10spd transmission, which i don't know if the 16 Taurus will have. When I was in Dearborn, you couldn't find a lot of info on the Taurus program.

Possibly the 9 speed transmission ford is developing with gm? Either way I will be curious what they choose. 2.7 or 3.5l, more power and better fuel economy a win for everybody:hi5:

I checked the build date on the window sticker and determined 16 months exactly. I can definitely vouch for at least four months in Columbus I don't know when it arrived on the lot. Motivated but I should have tried a bit harder. I can tell they were done with caring on it, no front license plate bracket, appears to be overspray on the windshield overall some lack of attention to detail items. Great running don't get me wrong but as with a lot of things these days if you want something done right do it yourself. I am not going to drive 200 miles for overspray removal or a license plate bracket but you get the idea.
