The few pics I have are just other cars in the paddock and some car on the front straight. Nothing special.

I'll be back for sure. Espically considering a 2 day event for ne nasa is freaking 600 dollars. VIR was only 385 and its a better track imo. So ill be back prolly in June/July. Honesty nasa is too much money for just hpde. I am trying to find cheaper ways to get the track. Luckily njmp has track days and they are reasonable (225 per day wit 4 30 sessions. Nasa only get 3 session @20

I'll be at the glen with nasa on April 30 may 1. Looking forewards to that.

And I'm gonna try to hit a "track days" event at njmp in march. Plus cant wait for autocorss to start. That will keep me busy. More seat time the better :)

Post some pics Justin! I have been working feverishly to get mine ready. Cam is in, Im just waiting on a valve spring compressor tool to get my springs on. After all that, its time to put on the clutch and trans, then drop it all in.

Are you reffering to me or is there another Justin in this thread? Lol

Keep me in the loop on the track days. I would love to do some more.

the result.

I learned a few imporant things. I liked to shuffle my hands but that was an easy fix and obviously they pound smooth throttle/steering inputs into you. but theres a reason for that. A big one for me was I kept hearing was open the steering. I got better moslty b/c I finally learned the track and knew wat was coming up. Ill need lots more practice to ace all the turns and put that all together to make a good lap. Mess up one turn and the next 3 or 4 turns are off. But that will come with more time on the track.

Its awesome and shoaz is correct. I have to be patient and dont rush. Its hard not to want to.

who was your instructor?

you are right that there are cheaper ways to get (more) track/instruction time (check out Chin Motorsports for a good one).

That being said, having instructed and ran with a bunch of different groups, NASA is going to put you into a bit more of a "hard care" racer group, and there's a lot of knowledge in a typical NASA paddock. Plus lots of good racing to watch when you aren't running or are in the classroom.

for sure. on a big high hp car you want to open the steering on exit as much as you can, the less you pinch the car, the more throttle you can use. it's all about throttle on time (the % of the lap you are at WOT, that's what you want to max)

not the cleanest of laps but some VIR in the same car. generally you want to be smooth in the high speed stuff, just to not upset the car, you can attack a bit harder in the slow speed stuff and throw the car around a bit more like an auto-x.

if you noticed the FIA curbing in the track, we were one of the last groups to run on it before they added it, and they were really coming down ******* us dropping 2 wheels off in the esses, so when I finally got to my sticker tire run, I had to dial my line way back (or pack up and go home). there is a lot of time to be gained in the esses getting 2 wheels off on the first two corners, just make sure your wheels are straight when you do it!

Ane Kennett. She races a black/green c5z in st2 iirc. She was good instructor and its cool that she raced a vette. She was constantly saying to let it open up lol. She said I did really well considering it was my first time and that she was doing a lot of nitpicking actually. Sunday was cold and wet so it was basically line practice and super smooth throttle.

I like nasa definalty gonna stick with them and work threw the ladder. But northeast nasa wants 600 bucks and that's a lot for just 2 hrs of track time over 2 days. VIR is almost cheaper even after the 7 hr drive and its a harder track. But I will be looking for cheaper ways to get seat time and use nasa hpde to learn or get rid of any bad habits as I progress.

That was the first thing I learned at my first track day at RoadAtlanta, that depending on what type of vehicle you're driving and the power involved, get that steering opened up as early as you can on the big hp cars, use more of the track on less hp cars.

You know that's a fast lap when you're using all of the track coming out of the Hog Pen. Even in my V, I'm usually on the right side of the track, maybe towards the middle, after using the dip on the far right...
