Well theres a problem, Im thinking thats maybe why the turbos have pretty much no turbo lag. The velocity of the high back pressure spools the turbo up quicker.

I didn't know pressure could have velocity.

squeezing lots of volume into a small space makes pressure, when pressure exits it creates a stream of gas exiting quickly. If you understand me. Either that or im completly wrong.

Besides, the stock computer program limits torque so much beyond 2000rpm that it's not like the manifolds are creating a problem. Now, when you start tuning... then you might want to get something a lil' bigger.

Perhaps the restriction is not as considerable as the resistance the turbos make. Backpressure, airmass velocity to encourage scavenging, etc. may be design factors. The unequal length and odd shape and exit location are what strike me.

Something most folks forget is that auto manufacturers are limited by packaging space, and tool/assembly clearances to appease the UAW. Many compromises are made to make assembly quicker/easier and for clearances of the particular chassis that the powerplant will be installed in. While enthusiasts could care less about having to take a bit more time to access the parts for maintenance/repairs, the UAW employees are more concerned with assembly speed and ease of assembly.

Wow that is a small outlet. I can see the Livernois crew fixing that for the heavy HP guys.
