time for one more round of wtf is this. making my 95 sho a dedicated track car and im removing everything not needed from the motor. that being said came across this little beauty on the motor and was wondering what it was and if its needed

Yea, what Bob said. It should also have another line going to the charcoal canister off of that T IIRC.

The T is down under the radiator. The solenoid goes between the T and the intake manifold. Then from the T there is one line going to the fuel tank and one to the charcoal canister.

That's the canister purge solenoid. Yes, you need it.
i need the emmission controls? Im not meaning to question someone more experienced with this motor but i have built two other dirt track cars and built my street car and have always removed all emission controls including the canister since fuel economy isnt a problem does it actually make a difference in these cars?

holy triple post!

you need to vent/purge the charcoal canister. you can eliminate the solenoid, but you need the vacuum lines connected.

not a problem, you'll get three different wrong answers though.

that solenoid is part of the system that vents pressure/vapors from the fuel tank.
for a track only car it's up to you, and any track safety rules that may apply.

thanks perry the canister and lines left weeks ago for the trash dump as i figured i was fine without it but all cars computers are different and i figured id consult the experts
