Ordered a 12 on Oct 21 and still no build date. I live 20 miles from the assembly plant which I guess means nothing..I would have thought I should have a build date by now..

Living that close to a plant has no effect on getting a vehicle any faster. The dealer may not have a date set, but the plant may. When I ordered mine, it was listed with a build date soon thereafter but even the day I picked it up, on their cpu it still said '"TBD" on their date of shipment. Looks like it just wasn't updated on someones end. Be patient, it'll be worth it bro.

I only have a order number from the dealer. 9112. They told me they're trying to find out through My Ford.

LOL, remembering a year ago or so, I ordered in December, then waited 3 months for a build date, and waited another 3 months for delivery.

That was an out of the ordinary situation with some initial delays, then the disaster in Japan late last winter which had an effect on delivery of some parts and paint.

Your wait won't be nearly as long -- . Whatever, even for me it was well worth the waiting.

Dealer said maybe a build on the first or second week of Dec. Sounds like he is getting the run around from his rep. I'm not sure how the whole process works but maybe time for a Caddy.:violin:

hahaha, tempting isn't it but no Caddy -- just push the dealer harder. You'll be glad you waited for the SHO.

Does seem like a long time.....from order date to driving off the lot wasn't but about 6 weeks (July-August). Does production slow down after the summer?

There are a bunch of things that affect when a build date is scheduled and when you ordered the car is not one of them. They do not take new car orders in order from the date the order was placed. The first consideration is does the dealer have an allotment for the model being ordered. If the dealer has an allotment then sometimes a particular option maybe holding things up. If a supplier is having trouble shipping an option on time then the models with that option get hung up in the system until it all gets worked out.

I'll just patiently wait until Dec. Are 2011's still being made?

Hey Taurusbuilder,

What's the timing for the 2013s to be produced, if you have any idea? My dealer can't order any yet either but I would have thought by now or perhaps by the end of the year they would be available to order perhaps. I need to know how long I will have to wait if I sell my 2010. :naughty:

If they are only building 3 a day there is an issue. Sounds like the build mix is being kept low due to SHO unique parts availability being very low and the supply line unable to keep up. Remember an assemble plant is just that a final assembly plant. Sub assemblies come from all over the world. All it would take is a slowdown of one unique SHO part to hold up production.
