Jeremy, have you checked your coolant to make sure its mixed properly? With it being 100+ degrees down here i can see it running hotter than normal.

Coolant leak fixed; upper radiator hose had a tiny hole in it. Replaced the thermostat and the upper hose, seems to be fine now, although running at the upper end of normal but not surpassing the N now.

I found a really loose piece of exhaust heat shield, cut it off, then drove the car. Still hear the noise but not as much on lower rpms. At 5k though, it rattles like ****! Sounds like I need to just get tin snips and cut the whole damn thing off.

I revved the motor over 5k at the TB and it was smooth as ****; no noises. Used my stethoscope, no noises. Gotta be the heat shield. Can't hear it at a stand still now.

I need to PM Chris and get the address. Question though Chris and/or Daniel. The Google maps route has me going I-65 to I-85, then all the way to 285 N then back-tracking westward to Dallas. Is it quicker to do that or take a local route north from 85 to 20 straight up to Dallas?

YES. Just pmmed you.

ANYONE COMING FROM ALABAMA

if you're coming up 85, get off at the palmetto exit and then take a right on 154(i believe that's the road number) your gps will reroute you from there.

coming up from 20. Get off in villa rica and take 61 north.

DO NOT GO THROUGH ATLANTA.

Jeremy, just on memory at the moment, but you could get of @ Newnan( on 85) and go north from there... I gotta run some errands, I'll give it a close look when I get home.

Psh, I think I'm out now. Drove the car tonight to make sure it's fine before I leave tomorrow, started running hot again, didn't see steam billowing out so I drove it 3 miles home at the H (bad me, I know). Get home and it's steaming underneath; hose popped off. I had the damn thing on backwards. So I put it on correctly, topped off with distilled water (not all of the coolant leaked out, maybe 1 gal out of 3 so I didn't blow a head gasket). Car still is pegged at the H. Not sure if it's leaking or not; wife needs my 4Runner tomorrow.

Eff it. Tired of dealing with this *************. Maybe I can make the next one.

I'm trying to burp the system now. When I started it up after cooling it off, it stumbled and stuttered and the red oil light came on (only b/c of the low rpms). I hope I didn't mess anything up. Still out for tomorrow as of now. I'm not spending the remainder of my night screwing with this car.

You fixed the silver banshee....the white turd is out in the garage running; if this thing can't get to normal operating temps in the next few, i'm for sure out. Damn Hampton Inn has a 24 hr cxl policy, so I don't wanna lose out on my points I spent. If I decide 100% I can't make it, I'll "donate' my free room to someone else. Not sure what's all involved in txfring a reservation, but I can check. I'm drunk, tired, and ****** off at that white car right now.
