So I just started driving my SHO again as a DD after doing valve stem seals, upper and front 60k and a few other things. I noticed right away that it is very sluggish off the line and starts getting better the higher the RPMs. I did pull codes a few times and I keep getting a 332 EGR code but haven't looked into it too much because I don't think it's related. Other than it being sluggish it runs very smooth and idles very smooth. Just looking for some ideas of what to check next. Tomorrow I will be looking into the 332 code and hopefully I will fix that but I really doubt it's related.

Remember that the secondaries default is open until vacuum closes them.

Esay to check if you watch them when someone starts the car.

My '94 did that. Replaced all the vacuum pieces, and it turned out that the PCM got screwed up.

When I start the car it looks like they open. They definately move when the car is started I am just not sure which position is opened or closed.

Open when the car is off, closed when vacuum closes them when you start it.

If you see the levers move when someone starts it, they are closed.

New MAF, coil, new plugs (again) and I fixed my 332 code by replacing the EGR valve and I still have a lot of hesitiation off the line.

My fuel pressure with car running is 30psi, within spec but I am thinking it's a little low. KOEO my fuel pressure is 34psi. That is a little low but not sure if it's enough to say the pump should be replaced. And to just let everyone know the pump is new from SHO Source last year, it might have 3k miles on it if that. I did the fuel filter when I did the pump but I am going to replace the fuel filter later today.

Years ago, when my pump was going, high rpm power suffered. When I changed it, it was the best power mod I ever did (!!!!).

I assume that you found the secondaries were working correctly?

Yes the secondaries are working fine. I am getting so sick of this car and I am ready to sell it. I have a perfectly good running 01 Mustang GT I took off the road to drive this thing. Nothing else to replace besides the fuel pump. I did notice a little bogging today at high RPMs but I was just about out of fuel when it happened so I filled it up and I am going to take it for a long ride to see if any codes pop up.

At this point, I would try another PCM. Sounds like it's not getting fuel there at tip-in. Get with Kirk @ NESHO and see if he has a spare that you could try.

FWIW, I was surprised when my car lost the circuit for the secondaries, and everything else was fine otherwise. Weird stuff can happen.

Another (relatively easy) thing to try is to clean the four (IIRC) connectors around the CCRM under the plastic tray over the radiator. One of my cars had a starting issue that cleaning those connectors solved (Thanks, Kirk) on the way to CA for the Convention a few years ago.

I did think about trying another PCM and I think I will try that if I can find one locally.

After doing a front 60k on my 89, it's also been sluggish off the line until the secondaries kick in. Not sure why. I pulled and cleaned the MAF. What's weird is that it's temperamental. Sometimes it's like that and sometimes it's not. Once the car warms up, it seems to be be better.

my 92 was like that until I found a vacuum leak - made it too lean at lower rpms. I'd take a good look at all the vacuum lines/hoses etc.

I checked and rechecked tons of times and couldn't find any vacuum leaks and my fuel trims are right around zero so I really don't think it's a vacuum leak.
