Anyone has this application?
It is mainly for that reason that I changed my cell to an Iphone. Dynolicious calculates all sort of datas of acceleration (0-..., 1/8, 1/4), G acceleration in curves, braking, HP, etc.
I will go to the track again tonight... will be testing it along with new tires! Looking forward to seeing if I can finally brake the 12's!!! My best of 13.07 was done with mdiocre Michelin tires with 25K miles on them. Now, slippering tires should not be an issue. It is supposed to be cool and not too windy.
That said, I was wondering if any of you had the application and would have liked to have your comments concerning its accuracy. From what I have seen on youtube, the application seems to be quite accurate.
Also, it asks me the weight of the car (including me) in order to calculate HP etc. 4,358lbs without driver but with all liquids full is what I see in the books... but never verified it. Is it close enough, does it consider 20 inches wheels, sunroof? I don't have the performance package, so I have the spare wheel, etc.
I would like to enter the closest to reality and from there will add my weight and deduct the fuel and spare tire.
Finally, they ask the train loss... according to the dyno tests I had a month ago, it would be 23%, but I have heard higher numbers many time for our car... What do you guys think?
Thank you and results coming tomorrow!
Steve

G/L tonight Steve -- come on 12's!
13.04sec. at 105.7MPH... SO CLOSE!
My first three runs were 13.1 between 108 and 109mph... the speed is there for the 12's... hopefully the CAI Airaid will give me the .05sec. missing...
For the dynolicious, I need to mount it better to be stable for accurate reading...

Damn that was close! A puff of wind, slightly better traction, or a wing and a prayer would have gotten you those 12's.
The CAI must be worth something.
Next time.

lol just pick up a g meter with gps, dynolicious is off a lot of times especially in the mph
I need to install it properly... I don't want to mount it permanently but still need to fix in a solid way so that it reeds accurately. Nevertheless, I ran a few run on normal street (with no traffic), but didn't want to run a 1/4 mile test for security purposes... For 0-60, it indicated 5.09 seconds, which is probably a bit too slow compared to reality (I would expect more around 4.7 from a stop)... My first 60 feet were at 2.30 seconds... At the drag (with a bit of spinning but flatter surface), I am running between 1.90 and 2.00 sec. So, we will see when better mounted if it gets closer to reality. HP estimation (based on a weight of 4,475 lbs including myself at 200lbs) was between 281hp and 295hp at wheels on stage 4... When I dynoed it a month ago, 281hp was the reading being stock and 311 on stage 4. So again, let's see when preperly installed.
Is your G-meter close to what you'd expect (based on the track, dyno, etc.)?
Thanks

So I finally bought an arm to mount the iphone for it to be stable and finally it seems to give more reliable numbers. I tried a few runs for 0-60mph on the street (normal asphalt, a bit bumpy, but still flat) and it indicates times of : 4.83 s., 4.69 s., 4.96 s. with one foot roll out.
The only thing is that it says that my 60ft. are between 2.33 s. and 2.35 s. When I am at the drags, I have 60ft. around 1.9 s. So, I don't know if it just reads it wrong or my 0-60 is actually more around 4.4 s.
It also gave me (only one run) a 1/4 mile time of 13.42 s. at 106.9 mph which is a bit shy of the 13.0 made at the track at 108+mph.
But that would be normal, since the asphalt is not the same quality and more bumps...
Still pretty accurate tool and very fun to test...
I will try next time I go to the track to compare to have a better idea of its precision. 13$ is not expensive for that toy!
