Hey guys (guys at Livernois specifically)...

Another night with baby girl in my arms... So again writing in the dark with left hand only... lol

I am currently running Liv stg 4 and am wondering if it d be possible to modify a few parameters with SCT Tuner.:braincramp:

1 ) can we modify to make it more a RWD car? I know, for example, that it is possible to mod a Jeep SRT8 to make it a RWD on demand... Would give our car more power at the track and more pleasure to drive.:omgsho:

2) do you think we could lower our ET if we would stretch the third gear by 5mph, so that it wouldn't need to shift in 4th at the end of the run?

Thanks!:thankyou:

To my knowledge, the AWD split cannot be modified on the SHO.

I will forward both of your questions to our tuner Dan to get his thoughts.

Thank you

As for #1... This would involve modifying the AWD electronics. Not sure if this is a good idea, or if it is even possible. The Jeep is a rear wheel drive vehicle that has awd.... The EB Taurus/Flex platform is a front wheel drive vehicle that has been modified to have awd. When I asked Torrie about the issue of the front wheels spinning first, and the rears starting later, he said that it was impossible to change the AWD electronics, as it is a safety feature to keep the system from damage.

As for #2. This applies only to the EB models with the 2.73 axle ratio. The performance SHO & all EB Flex, are geared so that they will be in 4th at the end of the 1/4 mi. You can do this 2 ways. #A... Increase the RPM limit for 3rd. This may not be possible. Do you have logs showing the RPM shifting point from 3rd to 4th, relative to the max for the rev. limiter? #B. You can always use the paddle shifers to hold the car manually in 3rd... thru the 1/4 end. This may cause the engine to bounce off the rev. limiter, but guys with G8 GT's have done this successfully, and have lowered their times by a couple tenths. You are correct that IDEALLY, you want to end your run at or near the top of the lowest gear, due to the loss of momentum during a shift.

Rick at Livernois should be able to tell you if that was their secret in getting their SHO to turn in the 12's, that also doesn't have the Performance package & axle ratio.
