I just contacted Livernois about the Tune. Hopefully a well-versed sales rep hollas back and gets in touch with me.

If anyone else would like to PM me, that would be great! I'm looking for the best advice I can get, and this forum seems to have the most knowledgeable people

-Michael

Though we've never experienced this in our car, I have had customers that have called to say they've had it happen to them on occasion. I did go for a ride with someone that tried for a long time to duplicate the issue and finally got it to do it once. I'm not sure what causes it. It did not happen at WOT, only when accelerating and getting off of the gas before the shift. It almost seemed as if it got confused on what gear to go into then shifted. Is this what you are seeing?

Thank you,

Rick (the horse :laugh_ti:)

Ah you maybe on to something there Rick. Letting off the gas before the shift. This happened to me also and happen on very very light exceleration. Could the This be the torque management? Cause it does open and close throttle when shifting gears.

That is what I believe it is...

Yeah i was geting the clunking from stage 2 up and down shifiting when in town going from light to light under small acceleration. Put in stage 3 and it went away seems like its shifts way smoother on stage 3 but I do prefer the TRQ management on the tranny with the stage 2.

Nice to know we have a possible solution to that clunking should we need to got that route. tho there is less tq management with stage 3.

It is my understanding that torque management reduces engine power between shifts and makes the shift feel smoother. Reducing or removing it makes it shift firmer. The stage 3 has no torque management.

Ok so there's no torque management with stage 3 -- I was mistaken when I said "less" .....

But this (stage 3) should mean a harder shift than stage 2 shouldn't it, Rick?
On SHO60k's car he was getting smoother shifts on stage 3.

Seemed to act ass backwards for some strange reason...

I know this is going to sound ass backwards, but IMO, it's a firmer, smoother shift if that makes sense. There is no delay or loss of power that you will notice with the stage 2.

Thanks for explaining, Rick. I do wish I could experiment for myself. Maybe I'll get 'lucky' this coming week.
Some of these nuances will then begin to make more sense to me.

Cheers,
Colin.

Maybe it just not happend to me with the Stage 3 only drove it 4 or 5 times since i changed it to Stage 3. I was also thinking it was leting off the gas during the shift was causing it good to know its not just me tought something might be wrong with my tranny since I did have alot of issues with my GT500 tranny.

You'll LOVE the tune Steve! Ask any forum member who is running it, Rick and Dan at Livernois are my HERO'S :salute:

+1 to the "heros" Rick and Dan -- Loaded stage 3 in today but not much driving yet. The shifting feels much firmer which a really like .. the power and responsiveness is there too tho not had much time to beat on her yet.
Tomorrow she's in for a thrashing. :3gears::woo-hoo:

Excuse my ignorance. I'm a rather newbie that is just now getting into the tuning and performance world of this car. I know this car isn't a Ford Fusion, but the Fusion either didn't have a TCM or the TCM couldn't be altered with a programmer. CAN the TCM be adjusted with a tune in the SHO?

I'd love to have Livernois see what they could do with my car, but the dual CAI and AWD dyno that could be done four hours from my house is just way too......inviting.

WITH a Catback but WITHOUT a CAI, what kind of performance gains can I expect from a tune?

I dynoed on Dynapack 2-3 weeks ago stock vs stage 4 : about 40hp to the engine was added with just the tune, no catback or CAI yet... with better responsiveness, faster shifting, etc.
A very good investment.

Colin, you're tempting me to switch from Stage 2 to Stage 3!

TY Steve. 40hp to the engine with just a tune ain't bad at all. Probably more like 50-55 with a catback? Not too shabby. **** that may be the way to go.

With Livernois tunes, has anyone experienced detonation issues?

And looking on the website, that price with the tuner is great. I'd really hate to buy this though if I'm just going to get the Hennessey package later on with the custom tuning on the AWD dyno, but at least I'd be able to save myself the price of the tuner. In case you haven't noticed, I'm REALLY REALLY itching to make this thing go faster :)

Mark, Not sure you'll notice a big diff from 2 to 3 without going to the track, but on mine from factory to 3 was quite dramatic -- even on my unbroken-in engine.

By all means give it a try. I'd love to hear if you notice any difference in performance.

Shifting was firmed up nicely and now I can feel the shifts which I love.
No more "limo" shifts. :)

So can you only go to Stage 4 if you have a CAI or something like that? Livernois only seems to have Stages 1-3 on their website? Can I get a Stage 2, 3, and 4 tune on the tuner? I imagine my good ol X-Cal 2 won't work :)
