I'm guessing that map is counting atmospheric as 1 bar and he shooting for 28 PSI? SHOboom!

Or I'm reading MAP incorrectly as a sensor.

2 bar is 14.7 psi....looking more for 18 or 19psi. Not sure what the stock turbos are good to. I know one guy is running 19psi and hasn't had a problem....yet

Possibly on another planet or at ridiculously high altitude, but here on Earth (pressure at sea level), 1 bar = 14.5037738 pounds per square inch.

2 bar can be related to to 14.x PSI if you are referring to your starting atmospheric pressure as the first bar. Just about every gauge you see will reference atmospheric pressure as "0" (bar or PSI).

Do you ever have anything positive to say?? Just curious.

"i'm" not referring to anything. There is a 2 bar MAP on the car and it good to 14.x psi

Two things:

1. Reference post #170, it was directed towards you.
2. Explain how what I said was negative.

It is referencing atmospheric at 14.x PSI or 1 bar. Discussion is so negative these days.

MAP is not a gauge jason, it is a sensor, an absolute pressure sensor, and as such, the pressure in the manifold is at 1 bar when the engine is off.

EDIT: NM, posted this while you were posting above.

Not sure what level of misunderstanding is occurring here. A 3 bar sensor is needed anytime you will be seeing over 14.7psi of boost pressure. It does not mean you will have to use the entire capacity of the sensor (29+psi).

Sorry dude....sounded like you were trying to bash me. That's the problem with reading stuff in text I guess.

To expand a little on Toolman...yes I was talking about the MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor on the car. I'm limited to 14.x psi without changing the sensor to a 3 bar

I wasn't sure if he meant M.A.P. or map (tune). Either way, there wasn't any harm and I'm sorry if someone is way too easily offended by discussion, since I didn't name call, point fingers, curse, etc...

I don't see him being offended at all, just calling it like it looks, he would not be the first. He is new, and unlike the rest of us, is not used to your complete lack of diplomacy! :)

I see, map versus MAP, makes a little bit of sense I guess.

I think if I can get up into the 3 bar boost range, it could run 11's

I understand what you meant now, but in your post you said 3 bar of boost, not 3 bar MAP, which equates to about 43.5psi of boost over atmosphere, which is why I was all :oogle:.

Thanks man! Yeah, I'll push it as far as I can. You did definately trap higher and I honestly thought my MPH would be more than 110.

Yeah the AWD is nice, i'd actually like to get the 60ft under 1.8 :)
