Just installed Livernois Stage 2 - 91 Octane tune last night and first impression is WOW! Much quieter ride with a little better 0-60 performance than my previous tune so far. Best part of all I got my fuel economy back. :woo-hoo:

Love this tune so far. First two 0-60 in 5 seconds flat without pre rev. Borla exhaust is tamed down significantly with only minor reverb in the 2500 rpm range now. Cruising speed is quiet to a low growl depending on workload. I really like the low end response of this tune and I really appreciate the fuel economy so far.

After beating on it for 30 minutes and doing a couple of 0-60s I was still getting 16 mpg. Then I took it to town and was ave. about 23 mpg after another 30 min of driving in town and back home. Great job Livernois!
Can't sleep now. haha

This is how it went down. I emailed Rick over the weekend and got a response back this morning. Called him and gave him my credit card info and emailed him my X3 Flash specs and info from car/gas. Had the tunes in my email in 10 minutes. Installed tunes on computer and loaded in X3 in 15 minutes and had Stage 2 loaded in car in another 10 minutes. Now I have 6 custom tunes on my computer and 3 in X3 Flash device. How easy is that?

To Rick and Dan at Livernois, we salute you! :salute:b
:thankyou:

Next stop is at Borla Performance in Oxnard on Wednesday to have techs listen to my exhaust and see if we can **** out the sounds. :munch:

Who did your tuning before??

I have Torrie's tunes in my computer and was running the Stage 3 in my car. It's a good one too for speed. Torrie's tune seemed to idle higher near the 800- 1k range. Felt like I gave up some milage with the stage 3 tune of his but there was definitely no lack of power. I like them both. Not sure of the difference in boost between the two but Torrie said this stage 3 added about 60hp without mods. The video I made from inside the car in the exhaust threads and on YouTube was with his stage 3 tune. Really like the sound on the 0-80.
Great stuff!

I had Torrie's stage 3 tune in my Brick for many months, before Livernois was sell in their tunes. With the 3.16 axle ratio, the smaller /lighter wheels/tires which give me an effective 3.40 axle ratio, I got 19.9 MPG on first leg of IA return trip last May. Averaged 75 MPH, so was running 79-80 most of the time. And... this was before I lowered my Brick. I didn't notice any drop-off in mileage from stock. In fact, the smaller/lighter wheels-tires actually improved my mileage by a tenth or 2 from stock wheels ant tires with Torrie's Boosted Tune. Remember though, my Brick not only weighs 400-500 lbs more than a SHO, but it also has a much larger front area.

Bottom line... Both Livernois & Torrie's tunes are light years better than stock, especially the tranny shifting!

Hey Big Dog!
You just posted the thread I needed to make me change direction and go ahead with the Livernois tunes. I called Rick this morning, gave him my credit card number by phone and sent him an email with car and SCT device info and about an hour after I had the tunes sent by email. I thought I couldn't transfer the tunes to the device, but it was the easiest : Copy emailed tunes in computer, connect SCT device to computer, open program SCT device updater and transfer the three files! Now I will soon leave the office and will return car to stock before loading the stage 3... I will go directly to stage 3 and will keep stage 4 for the track.
Looking forward to share the first impressions...
Cheers all!

Darrell uses Stage 4 as his daily driver tune.

I ran it for a couple weeks and over 1,000. mi when kids were here and we had a full car load of stuff. No issues whatsoever. Most important - 93 OCTANE GAS!

I'd like to run the stage 4 tune but Im not finding 93 Octane here in Cali. I asked a guy what the guys on the local track are using and he said some guy makes fuel at his home? Haha

Stopped at the Borla headquarters this morning and picked up some resonators. People were turning their heads on the 101 freeway as I drove by including a new Audi A8. Luckily my radar picked up on a laser and this guy drove right into it. Ya baby!:hail:

Yesterday, I left the office earlier...hmmm, I guess I wanted to test drive the car a bit before going home lol! So, I started to put the car back to stock (it was still with the mild tune of 2 degrees...). At first I felt like the car was kinda of relatively slow, especially at the start but after 20mph the car opens up and I thought that it was kind of fast for being stock... I drove it stock about 10 miles, but before heading home, I stopped at a new friend's house, a guy that I met a few times at the track that owns a body shop. He removed the front plate (not needed in Quebec but my car came with it). He did a good job with the polish and the plugs (black on black, doesn't show too much). Also, I asked him to remove the dealer's sticker on the trunk and while at it... why not the Taurus sign... and I wanted to remove the ecoboost sign as well, but it comes with the SHO sign... So finally, he removed everything. So for the moment I have an anonymous car from the back... looks cool but I might had a SHO sign and/or paint in the future if I see something interesting.
While he was working on the car, I had the stage 3 from Livernois downloaded in the car and left the hood open for about an hour.
When he finished and I was ready to go home, the engine was still hot (so long to cool down no?)... I press on the gas to try to impress him (me being macho). Since I don't have any CAI or exhaust, the notes coming out of the engine are not reflective of the acceleration of the car. IT started off the «line» a bit faster than stock but after about 15 mph, omg! I really felt the difference...
At very next stop sign, a black 2011 black Taurus SEL shows up... I accelerated a bit to be side by side (to appreciate my lowered car and try to see the difference) and the guy opens up his window and tells me wow! nice car, I wish I had a SHO too. We stopped on the side of the street and talked a bit (very nice guy) and I ended up taking a picture of the two car together (our car looks very nice!). The car didn't seem that much lower (after all, it's only lowered by 1.5 inches and with our 20 inches wheels compared to 18's, the cars looked about the same height, but the SHO looks so much sportier).
Anyway, back in the car, there is a guy in a new Lexus IS350 doing a test drive with a temporary license on the trunk... I thought he wanted to try his car, but no, he stopped for many seconds and let me race by myself... which I did anyway lol! So, finally going back home, I tried at different speed and can't wait to try the tune at the track... and it is not even the stage 4!
At home, my wife told me she wanted to test drive it after supper to see what all my excitement is about. i told her to try to go at around 20-25 mph and to WOT from there... She came back and told me : OMG, I wanted to puke! But I wanted more and more. lol! She now understands and told me it must hard not to WOT with that car... You are right baby, but I told her that the turbos heat up pretty fast, there is the police, the danger of speeding, etc. All factors to keep me reasonable, but I admitted to her that if ever there is a Mustang GT or a G37 beside at the light, I cannot resist and she understood. Cool!
So thank you Rick and Dan Livernois for the little bomb you propose for our car, simply love it!
Cheers all and sorry for the long post... now I need to go to the office... i'll try to be reasonable!lol

Even I like it and I haven't even got my car yet to load it into.:)
Come to Napierville Quebec tomorrow, I will let you try mine. Poor you, how long have you been waiting for your car now? Any idea on howlong more you need to wait... Are you sure you didn't order a 2012? lol

Steve,
That's a very generous offer, and believe me, if I could do it I would. I wasn't far from there last week when in the Ottawa valley on business, but another trip would mean major arrangements here at home.

Car ordered Dec. 20 and no SHO yet.....They say that Chicago is just now catching up with orders and shipping the backlog. So it might be in the next week or so -- I hope....

If I could transfer the incentives and get the same trade-in on the Honda I'd gladly wait for the '12 now, but alas that's not possible.
No worries. It'll come. and when it does there will be quite a celebration.:beer:

In the meantime, enjoy yours and please keep us up on developments and activities. It helps me fill the void that the absent SHO creates.

Cheers, and thanks for asking,

Colin.

Hey SHOGUN, looks like the '12 has few or no changes. Seems like the changes will be on the '13. So you're doing the right thing taking the '11. Good Luck for quick delivery we all know you'll love her when she finally makes her appearance.
