Update (7/7/12): First start video.

I figured it is time to post up some pics and info of my new project. After blowing a transaxle in june of this year I decided to swap the turbo and motor into something that was rwd. At first I was thinking of changing the drivetrain on my Taurus but weighed some different ideas and ended up with choosing to buile a factory five roadster. I picked up the kit in September and have been working on and off. I am using the CIDIDIT adaptor with a tko600 trans. I will be using a new ball bearing turbonetics 60-1. I’ve got the motor mounts made up now so I figured I would post up the pics. I will be posting pics as I make progress.

Project Pics - (10-05-11) More pic than whats in the post here.

7-7-2012: A few new pics, planning on fixing up the post to be a proper build log style post.

Yeah, so that is totally kick ass!

I've always wanted to build a Factory Five but never the time or money yet. Keep the pics coming as the build moves along.

Holy Cow! Another one, and it will be turbo'd! Great project you got there. What are you going to use for a flywheel? Stock SHO and stock pressure plate? Or are you going like NIK97 is doing and a Mustang flywheel drilled to SHO crank?

Need more pics if you don't mind.

I second the picture request. More info on the clutch/flywheel setup too. What depth bellhousing are you using, and which length input shaft? Will you be using a pilot bushing/bearing or is the input shaft going to be free floating like the SHO trans?

I've actually been dreaming of one of these for years. I picked up one of the 302 bellhousing as well, and have a SC IRS waiting at a shop for me. Still in the gathering parts and info phase, though, and probably won't be able to order the kit for a few years.

It looks like the engine mounts land nicely on the standard FFR frame brackets. Does that move the trans mount location any? Are you going IRS or will you be using one of their live axle setups? I can't tell from the picture.

Drooling in anticipation and cursing you for doing it before me :)

I am going with the mustang flywheel probably from spec. I had a bad experience with clutchmasters so i didnt want to go with them.

What are going to do for exhaust?

The standard FFR exhaust is sidepipes, i will be using those and of coarse some fabricate pipe from the engine to turbo and turbo to sidepipes.

I dont have the clutch or flywheel yet maybe NIK97 can chime in with more info. Basically the adaptor allows for the use of the larger mustang flywheel also allowing you to use any mustang clutch. I haven't solved the pilot bearing yet. I will be using a live axle 4 link at first and possibly a 3 link or 5 link down the road. The engine mounts fell pretty nicely but there was some leeway the transmission mount is slotted to allow for different transmission and engine combinations.

Here are some more pics. I've been making good progress so i will post some more pics soon.

Did you order straight from factory five? I have been seeing your pics on PB for awhile and figured it would be a matter of time before you were ready to post them.
