I had one on my Chrysler mygig radio and had a ton of problems with it, so I sold it. I'm wondering if anyone has it and if you have had any issues? The issue I had were the gps would show I was going backwards, so it would just keep rerouting over and over. When it did work I loved it though.
Has anyone installed a lockpick on their nav unit?

IIRC the Ford version of the lockpick works quite differently, and I've heard nothing but rave reviews about it. I plan on getting one for my Mustang when I get it.

Well the same issue still exists then with the Taurus. It happens if you select the rear view camera. The system is tricked into thinking you are going in reverse to activate. Exiting that mode returns the nav to normal.

Theres no reflashing the radio. You plug it in on the harness and it does it's thing. The cost to install varies. $50-$100 at most. You need to pull the radio, plug the lockpick in, reinstall the radio. My buddy is a car audio installer for Best Buy so I will have him do mine.

That's ok. There's a link to the installation instructions on the website, but basically you have to get behind the HU. That means removing part of the center console, then removing the center stack faceplate. It's not that hard; just a few small bolts. Then, you separate a connector and basically stick the lock pick between the two halves. The lock pick acts as a man-in-the-middle and intercepts signals going either way. This way you can watch DVDs while moving, use the reverse cam while driving, add a second camera wherever you like and watch that while driving... it's pretty nifty!
Here are the details I posted 8 months ago to get the head unit out.
The unit allows you to view DVD's in motion and allows you to view rear camera (at anytime) and add an additional camera if you want .
It also allows you to type in an address while car is in motion. (You have 60 seconds ) or you have to re enable it.
The same 60 sec time-out works on Movie Listings and sports scores.
The general procedure to get to the head unit.
Remove the two long trim pieces along center console. And disconnect wiring harness to PTS button and Trunk button (keep the push to start trim handy)
Remove console boxes and shade switch trim and disconnect wiring harness
Start car again by plugging in PTS and move selector into Neutral. Turn off vehicle.
Remove Center Dash speaker cover
Remove under steering knee pad
Remove trim with pedal height switches
Remove trim with inside thermostat
Remove the silver instrument cluster skin. Bring steering wheel tilt loose , down and out as far as possible. Be careful with getting this out and back in. As the tabs could damage the dash pad.
Now remove the climate control and radio face plate (DON'T DROP)
Now remove LCD screen, then remove the head unit

And an install note attach a USB cable to the flash port for easy access when an update comes around. This way you don't have to pull the nav again.
I got the lockpick in the mail today and installed it tonight. It took about 1.5 hours because I went slow to make sure I didn't lose any screws or scratch anything in the interior. It's a very easy install, but it does take time because you have to remove so many pieces. I followed the instructions above, but I did not remove the gauge cluster surround. I released the tabs and slid it over because it is wedged in there really good. Removing it would have been a pain. Besides that it works awesome and is worth the $239. I didn't try out the camera but dvd in motion and typing in addresses while driving works fine.

I have one in my MKT and it works great. Wish there was a way to get a DVD
signal to some rear monitors though. Does anyone know how to do that ?

hey does anyone know if there are any screw holding the dash pieces together or is it all snap in stuff? just wanna know before I start pulling on panels and what not.

It has been a year, but as far as I remember it is 95% snap clips.
There is obviously screws holding in the lcd screen and Head unit. Just take a look for anything obvious and go for it. There might have been a few screw on the gauge cluster as well.
I think I know what you might be doing Tues night.
I would suggest you mount the lockpic in the glove box accessible to do updates and such. Once the lockpic is installed acting as the "man in the middle" you can't unplug it and still use the radio.
You will want to remove the glove box as well for ease of installing the harness and the lockpic. The glovebox is pressure fitted as well

Just checked out the Lockpick website and their video won't play because of an error...doesn't give me much confidence in their product to work correctly...just sayin'...
