Little metal flakes in my oil!!!!!?????

Rod bearings??? Help would be nice considering I just put this new motor in it with 136k. IS it just the rod bearings or what else could it be??? 94 ATX 137k

It could be... Anything metal in your engine

Take a sample and send it to Blackstone to be sampled. They'll tell you want it is. It is not completely uncommon to see some *tiny* metal flakes in the oil (more common with a brand new engine).

its kinda hard to do that whem its the only vehicle that you own im sure it costs money to do that in which thats money i dont have I was hoping someone could just tell me its my rod bearings

^^ This is you, only with the situation changed. You're asking us to diagnose an engine fault which may or may not even be a fault based on a poorly typed text description of the problem. Are you serious? We know a lot about the SHO but we aren't miracle workers.

Either get your oil tested at Blackstone (http://www.blackstone-labs.com) like Jason said, or live with it. An oil sample is $30. Rod bearings are $77. A new engine is $800. How much money do you not have?

metal flakes im assuming they are copper colored which would be rod bearings...

you should never have metal flakes there no matter what and considering the only problem with these engines is rod bearings... be safe be smart if you havent done them which is the sound of it then order rod bearings, spend the afternoon and get it done, that is if you didnt already do more damage.

you said you just changed the engine... please dont tell me you changed the engine because you blew the last one up due to rod bearings and then you didnt even consider doing them here..

By " new motor " do you mean junkyard new motor to you or you had a engine completly rebuild with new bearings ? 1k miles on a NEW engine you should of changed your oil at least 2 times by now as it is commen to see some flakes in the first >500 miles .

If its a JY engine and you didnt change the bearings then there is no guessing why it nuked..

Seriously though, go rub a magnet through your old oil and find out if anything sticks to it. Report back with results.

sorry for the bad description in the Original post, By new motor I mean different motor, Junk yard motor yes but it was from a salvage yard and I have a slip with a VIN number that says its has 136k on it. I will take a magnet through my oil tomarrow and get back with results
