I finally got around to taking my car into the dealership. The ****** has to "speak with his boss" because he doesn't think this is a normal warranty claim.

Does anyone know if there is a tsb on this? I'm going to be livid if the local dealerships out here don't take care of it.

Yeah - that's BS - an under 12month old car should not have the chrome around the tail lights peeling. It's normal warranty.

Just checked mine and sure enough the chrome around the tail lights is starting to peel. The car was built at the end of December 2009 and I bought it a month ago.

Just went to my dealer yesterday. He had to order the entire light assembly. He had no problem fixing it.

My dealer ordered them without question or hesitation. They are defective and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Maybe at 10 years the peeling is acceptable but not on a car that is under a year old.

Well I finally convinced the dealer to take care of it. As soon as he agreed to replace the one section attached to the trunk I noticed the other lights are starting to get tiny peels all around them... Hopefully he'll just replace both lights (4 separate pieces of chrome)

I'm taking it in right now.

I went to the dealership and the guy said that there is a service bulletin out there for a certain batch of cars having this issue and they'll replace all of the tail lights. My parts are on order. Still need to figure out what the **** is making the clicking noise under the driverside of my car.

Are you talking about the click when going WOT from about 5-10 mph?

I had the issue with peeling taillights and the dealer replaced every one of them without batting an eyelash. From his response I suspect it was something they had seen before, it also helps that the Service Manager has the same car as me...

In general I can hear it while traveling 5-20mph. If I could describe the sound it would almost be like the click you hear when your car is cooling down after you shut it off; but it's not coming from the engine.

Does the click speed up with speed or is it random like the way it is when you turn a hot car off? Kinda like popcorn popping random or does it slow and excel with speed?

The click doesnt speed up. It's random. It sounds like that popping you'd get right after you turn a hot car off. Maybe a bit more crisp

I got my taillights replaced today; parts finally came in. When I picked up the car, the dealer had me sign the warranty invoice which showed that all 4 of them cost $749 or something around there. OUCH!!!!! Then again I don't care as Ford is paying for them but OUCH!

I just noticed my taillight chrome is now peeling (built 9/29/09). I will be calling my dealer for a new set soon. I also noticed 2 spots on my grille where the chrome is bubbling up. Anyone else have this chrome issue?

Chrome trim on rear taillights peeling on mine as well. What the **** has happened to Ford quality? I also am having the transmission issues as posted on other threads here and a reluctant dealer when it comes to actually diagnosing it. They cannot replicate the issue, therefore it doesn't exist...NOT.

I am in WV. Was at the car wash and the chrome on rear tail light bezel washed off (both sides), as quick as the dirt. I wasnt even close with the washer. I am particular about that sprayer being too close to the paint. I will be going to the dealer also.
