Hi everyone,

I'm a new thrilled 2010 SHO owner.

Can I add this package at a good service shop? My SHO has the 402b rapid spec with nearly everything else inclusing the navigation system but no Performance Package.

I bought it used. 13500 miles. One private owner so it is in top shape. Silver. A custom grill which I will link a picture of sometime. I also got the original grill and the dealer has a standing offer to reinstall if at no cost to me at any time. The only damage it had was a broken clip on the bumper from a screw being too tight but you don't see anything. It is being fixed tommorow.

Thge dealership was outstanding. Should I say what I paid for this used SHO??

I'm coming from a 2006 Chevy Malibu SS. I wanted performance in a bigger car and a car that I can drive all year 'round. I only buy domestic.

Hopefully this will be my SHO forum for years and I'll try and stop in at times more than just to ask for help. I'll definatly read the forums. It's good to meet you all.

I hope I can still add this package -minus the tires maybe. I'd keep my spare ..not sure since I have AAA.

:thankyou:

Welcome aboard bud. You can upgrade to the perf package stuff like tires and brake pads, but you would need to upgrade the tranny to the different gears and have the steering recalibrated. Those are the main things with the perf package IIRC. Mine doesn't have it either, but the gains seem to be really minimal to say the least; from what I've heard anyway. I wanted all the luxuries and for some reason you couldn'y combine some of the packages and options. Go figure. Hurry and link that grill pic too. I'm curious as to what it looks like. oh, and what did ya pay for the car??

Welcome to the forum! The perf pack can not be added by the dealer. I should say, it would be prohibitively expensive to add, at least as far as the gearing mods. But, with the performance modifications that you can perform to the stock car, you can have a non-perf package SHO that is as quick as a perf package SHO. I have not heard in depth reports from owners here as to the differences in the steering, if it is something easily palpable to most drivers. As far as the brakes, only difference is the pads, so you got that covered.

Wow you sure paid alot for a used car with 13k.

C'mon guys, lighten up. List price on a similar car was between $42-$45,000 off the lot new. Like he said, he did save some money. Maybe he paid too much, maybe he didn't. All about location and demand. :p

Its not a bad price. I tried looking at a few used ones and they were priced pretty damn high. I decided to buy new because the a plan took $6,000+ off plus a $1,000 rebate. A lot of people who buy dont get the A plan discount, so when they sell they might be just under A plan price.

Welcome to the Forum... Im down in Spencer,Ma and sell perf parts, Exhaust and tuners for the car.. Also we have developed better brake pads then even the 12s cars have from the factory..

If you dont like the grille then have them swap it now! from the pic that is the grille that you have to cut out parts of the old factory grill and can NOT just be put back in..

So while its there make up your mind.. ;) in a few months from now the dealer will change his mind .

When you need something just let me know, or just google SHO parts and service you will find me at the top of the list..

****... Whats up with the BUD stuff?

Speaking of the 12S performance pack, does anyone know what the road test performance difference was in numbers in the 2010 SHOs with and without the 12S?
For example, what was the difference in 0-60 times?

Habit I suppose. I had to go back and see what you were talking about because for a second you lost me. At work I change it up a little. I'll toss in partner, bud, boss, etc. whatever comes to mind when I'm on the phone. It's all good....dude. :nut: And if the grille is like you're saying Kirk, put the factory one back in while you can Newad, especially at their expense.

You got what you wanted and 14k is not many miles, I don't know why anyone would want to slam you on getting that deal.

Don't worry about pleasing anyone but yourself.

Not even sure you comments desere any reply at all. You apparently do not know the car. I am a volunteer and drive less than 5k a year, although I like to drive, this isn't a work car and will not get work car miles. I will be out ahead on milage vs the average person in a year. 14k is average for the work car.

Base price is 37k.

14k miles is nothing.

In my area we see ZERO used SHO's.

Anyway, I'm not sure what youre driving at ..but you do not know what youre talking about. Sorry if you meant well.

14k miles is not nothing. It is 14k miles. Or roughly 40% of your warranty.

I paid 38k for mine, granted it was Xplan, but invoice minus the incentives would bring you around 38-39 for that car.

This thread has been hijacked. The fellow asked whether he might add the 12S Perf Pack to his car. He did not ask for opinions on the price he paid and should not be bashed for that anyway. Seems like the short answer to his question is NO since the gear ratio change would be prohibitively expensive after the fact.

The Performance Package was an extra $995 from the factory, and you are correct to say that adding those upgrades at the dealer would be cost prohibitive. As far as the price paid, mine stickered for $41k with rapid spec 401A (stereo/moonroof/heated-cooled seats) and the Performance Package. With incentives (including X-Plan), last September (ordered it in July) I paid $35k (plus tax and license) for my Ignot Silver SHO. I now have 11k miles on it and would seriously consider selling it if I could get $35k+ for it, as I have been unemployed since March 1st of this year. As with anything, its worth whatever someone is willing to pay. Enjoy your SHO, I know I sure have!
