What size pulley do you have? I have a pulley that I don't need and am not trying to get anything out of... It's a 3.6" IIRC. If you want it, let me know.

Also, do yourself a favor and run a CAI. A filter on the SC is asking for broken ring lands. You can move the washer bottle to the other side of the car if you're good with plastic welding. Pat, Terry and I moved out washer bottles to the other side.

I was going to send you a message later today asking about a snorkel/CAI. Any supplier or certain angled pieces I should look for?

I think it's a 3.25" pulley. I should have measured before I put it all together, but I imagine it will be coming off once or twice before everything is all set so I can verifty that. What size are you running? 3.6" might help lower boost, right? Bigger size, lower boost, correct?

Wait, you're running a Reichard pulley, aren't you?

Do you know what boost the PO was hitting? 3.25 seems like an uncommon size and will give you quite a bit of boost. I am running a 3.2" and I hit 16 PSI (not something I'd recommend for a stock motor). A 3.6" is roughly 10 PSI and good for over 450 bhp. You should be able to measure the pulley in place. I do have a Reichard, but the pulley I have to give away is not.

I went to a desiel supply shop and bought two 45* and one 90* turbo hose elbows. I think mine are 3.5", but if you have an S-trim, it will have a smaller inlet. I did have to cut the the sheet metal a tad to get it to fit.

Michelle, just to give you some ideas, I used a couple of 45º 3.5" heavy wall rubber els to get from the blower inlet into the fender, then a 90º plastic el pointing forward to mate with a large K&N conical filter. You do have to cut some sheet metal on the fender wall to clear all this, and you'll need to relocate the washer bottle. I had to gut the back of the marker lamp to clear the filter and put the lens back in the bumper, it makes a nice filter inspection window. ;)

Not sure on the boost. James might know, so I will send him a message since he talked to the PO more than I did about the SC. The guy claimed he had 411 at the wheels, IIRC.

I measured at the lip, so it's under 3.25" if you're talking rib-rib. Even so, 3.6" would be easier to deal with as I learn this stuff. I'll send you a PM.

Here is a picture of my setup before adding a filter over twice as large as the one pictured. The MAF is no longer pre-SC. I used exhuast pipe and clamps to couple it all together.

It sounds like it is a 3.2" pulley. I wouldn't be trying that on the stock motor. My current, untuned number on that size pulley was 438whp at 7k RPM (381whp at 8k RPM on stock motor with 10 PSI).

My motor isn't stock, but I wouldn't really know in comparison to others how "built" it is. Matt Wilder built the motor and since then, the basics have been done.

Thanks for all the info and pictures guys. Everyone has been a huge help! Wouldn't feel confident enough to do this without the support/guidance!

For some reason I thought this was a Mazda project, anyway, glad to see another supercharged SHO, looks like a clean install, please get in on HD gearset group buy, looks like you got a Quaife already, you too Jason.

Pay $3,500 of it and I'll consider it.

Jason, did you get a dynamic tensioner to fit on your vortech? also what belt brand you running, I think they say stay away from Gatorback with a Reichard racing pulley correct?

Cheap polycog belt with a regular idler pulley with the most belt realistically possible.

What field are you in? I do know people in DC :)

My last position was in systems engineering mainly product acquisition and sustainment following DOD5000 although I want to get back to design and development b/c my degree is in mechanical engineering, PM me if you have something in mind, I still got your email in my inbox, i don't care about its location as long as its a good 4-5 year project which won't run out of funding like the last few.

OP, what size are those injectors? What is your fuel setup, I don't know if you mentioned it. And whats up with that water pump pulley, someone cut it out to make lighter or something? This car missing a air charge cooler?

They are Ford 36# injectors. Have a 255 fuel pump on the way and running Josh's FPR. Water pump pulley is a SHO Shop pulley - not sure if it is going to stay or not. I have a SHO Shop PS pulley too.

No cooler as of now.

Out in front!
Looking good . You really need some sort of charge cooling . Your pistons will thank you , your tires will hate you.
