Looks like width is your issue. I'm 6'5 and my son is 6'8 (and growing). No problem with the room. Actually has more in front than my 2001 BMW 740. I'm 240 and not considered small. What car offers the right room? Maybe a new F-150. Very nice inside. They almost look like a luxury car behind the wheel. Good luck on your quest. Something from the USA will be right for you.

I'm a big dude and just about max out the driver space myself... 6'3", 325lbs, 56L suit size...with the moonroof and massaging seat my hair just brushes the roof... I may have passed on the sunroof if I had noticed the loss of headroom.

For as big a car as the Taurus is, the interior room is poor...

I agree. Makes me wonder what all that space is used for. The driver's side is like a fighter cockpit. There is no knee space for adults in the back. Since I don't have a family, that's just fine with me. The first thing I thought of though was that the Taurus is a full sized family sedan. The interior, IMO isn't family friendly, not much open space. Especially in the front. The car is more like a 4-door late model Tbird, a full sized personal luxury car. Like I said though, not that I care, I love the car.

Those who have met me know that I'm a big guy. I fit in one just fine. I'm 6' with the torso of a guy who is 6'5" (SHOContinental can attest to this), and I had plenty of headroom. It's all about seat adjustment, which the new SHO doesn't have a shortage of. Just when I'm in the car, don't plan on sitting behind me.

This man speaks the truth.

Also, I fit in the new SHO just fine, but I'm 'only' 250 lbs and 6'5.

The width is definitely the issue. I even went back and said "give me one more chance", and the width of the console, combined with the depth of the door panel just eat up all the seating room for someone my size.

Just test drove the EcoBoost Flex, and I must say that it scoots right along. If you can fit into the Flex nicely I recommend test driving one of the Ecoboost's to see if it can fit a few more of your car requirements.

The Ecoboost Flex was the frontrunner for me until I drove the SHO. It was then all over for the Flex. It was a tough decision but in the end the SHO won out much to my wife's disappointment as she wanted the Flex. She got the last word as she picked the color of the SHO. :)

Bottom line is that the width might not be an issue for most. I could probably live with it. However, the room should be CAVERNOUS for how monstrous the car is. It's not. Not only is the front seat width narrow, but the back seat is not spacious for its size. They had to make the back seat high to get that kneeroom. I don't remember ever sitting so high and upright in a car as that one.

I completely agree, for the size of the car, it should be a cavern inside. That is the exact thought I went in with, like "this is going to be an awesomely comfortable car". Sat down and was said "OUCH".

lolz im part asian and my father is part irish so im a natural short shit. I shed my weight in basic and tech school and im keeping it off. Kinda funny when you think or it a nerd with a 6 pack lolz. Also the only way id ever drive a smart car is if it has a hyabusa or ninja motor in it.

They should put handles on the side of the Smart Car for pallbearers.

I originally was looking at the flex too, but was disappointed in the rear space for storage which led me to the SHO. I couldn't easily fit multiple golfbags in the flex.
