So, quick story. I let a douche friend of mine use my car "who could drive stick really good" (yea right..) and i didn't go with him. It started with him stalling it out in front of the house (i had a party going on and people were drinking except him so he took it for the beer run). fine you know. whatever. it happens sumtimes. Then he pulls away. gets out on my main road in front of my house and all i hear is the car at about 5 grand and him riding the clutch super crazy. Already immediately ******, im waiting outside for him. he gets back to me smacking the crap out of the back of his head and me taking my keys back and everything else. Obviously, I told him he was an idiot and will never touch any of my cars again. So. the next morning i get into it just to go down the street. it smells like clutch. I expected that so whatever. Then i come home, hang out with my kids for a bit while waiting for the lady to come home. She gets home, i decide to take the SHO to a buddies house. Its driving fine, clutch smell gone. About 40 miles into it. I decide to race my buddies 90 integra at a light just for fun. Leaves off the line great, Then i go to slam into 2nd, Was NOT happening at all. Car has never grinded a gear since i have had it. Now ****** yet again, i just cruise the car to our spot (about another 20 miles) its fine. we go to then leave and then all i feel is an amazing ammount of like clutch chatter leaving first gear to were the whole car would shake. Then this proceeded a few miles later to the car not wanting to go into 2nd or 3rd or 4th while driving normal. I Almost have everything out now. but any ideas or what to expect? i have an extra trans but will that even be needed ya think? Flywheel and clutch smoked? Just throwing it out there since I am busy today and wont be able to finish it up till tomorrow.

The first thing to try is re-adjusting the clutch cable.
If this dosen't work, it's time to pull the tranny for a new clutch!

FWIW, I had a friend do a similar thing to my sho.
I let him use it to go to the parts store because we were working on HIS car on MY lift. You would think that common sense would have told him not to beat my car. Well, he did, and I was ******! I told him that he will NEVER do anything like that again.

I feel your pain.

My cars are like my wife, you don't borrow them, you don't drive them just look and don't touch. I've been burned by letting people drive my vehicles before and will never let it happen again....

your clutch is probably about to go like mine. I had spring pop out, that's why I bought a better clutch.
I don't let anyone drive my car, unless I teach them how to drive my cars first. They all know if they drive my car and screw it up, they will be driving me everywhere, untill my car is repaired and that process can take month sometimes.

pressure plate straps let go. Over revved the **** out if it!

that definately sounds about right. that would cause serious vibration out of first and cause it not going into gear correct? so adjusting the cable would probably be pointless?

I am still not super familiar with SHO's yet, thus the questions. But i have worked on many of them.

Might be a long shot but did he bust one of the mounts and make the engine slightly crooked or something? That might cause a **** of a vibration when you try to take off (drivetrain bouncing around), and could make it shift like crap if the rod shifter is all crooked going into the trans. But yeah like everyone said, most likely the clutch straps, this happened to my 93 years and years ago. I overrevved it being stupid doing a burnout, and BOOM went the factory clutch.

Yes it sounds like either the PP straps of the springs on the clutch.
Beating on a car and not knowing how to drive it and abusing it are 2 different worlds.
