which requires less, turbo? or super charger

I'd like to see that. I don't think it would be strong enough for how tight we have to run the belts.

No Sean I really mean 350hp at the CRANK... yes it can not be measured directly but that is what we are shooting for.

350hp seems low for 9psi. I believe Jason (yamahobagsho...:nut:) was making 380-ish at 10psi on his s-trim supercharger. Anyway, good luck.

SeanM(asters)C(ock) :)p :)); <-- had to add the smilies or you might take me serious

If you size the turbo small enough for quick response, you'll see a huge bump in torque in the lower RPM's and it will fall quickly (especially if using IWG). If the torque drops off enough, peak HP will be much lower (similar to the below graph).

This will be all in how they want to build the setup. At a lower price point, there will be a trade-off somwhere.

I love the near-instant torque that my STi has, but it dies quickly up top leaving me wanting more. Coming from a centrifigual blower, I'm used to the constant pull into the seat. With that said, I have picked up a 20g/TD05H/8cm for the STi as with a few other mods (port matching and heat coatings), it can retain stock boost response (or better), have higher peak numbers, and keep the torque further into the powerband.

One reason I want to use the whipple charger I have saved to install on the SHO is for the better torque curve you get with PD supercharger. For example:

Stsv final dyno run

Boost right away and stays there.

Meh, you said it better...

DISCLAIMER: I am only kidding. Do not take offense Kelvin. In NO way is this meant to be cocky or condesending.

DISCLAIMER TWO: Are you sure you read the first one?

Seriously, read the disclaimer. I would hate for Kelvin to be offended. Poor Kelvin. I'm sorry Kelvin. :(

I love you Kelvin.

That's my calculations I have and it might change once its on and tuned.

Of course one of the turbo's we are looking at will have a better response then a Whipple so we will see how it goes.

Depends on your definintion. A small turbo on this motor with an IWG has the ability to make SHO Boom rather quickly.

Funny how you are comparing a turbo to a supercharger. If you can get it to where the response is like the 2010 SHO (boost off idle), I'll be impressed. Gotta have some top end though.
