If you dont have a garage, I wouldn't do either. It's not just the initial fab, but the extra maintenance as well. Buy a turbo/sc'ed SHO already, or buy a kit. Sorry, it's really the only option if you don't have a garage.

I'd wager to say S/C requires less fabrication.

The SHO Shop sold quite a few supercharger kits. Some may be still floating around. They were made for the procharger and then later for the Vortech.

with the sho source kit ,is it a singe or double and how much boost are we talking? How bout a ball park price too?

Single

around 9psi. 350hp crank is the goal.

Price not set yet. Will depend on what turbo we go with as we are looking at a couple. We are trying to keep it reasonable.

I thought it was powerdyne's then vortech?

oo and centifugal s/c would be the easiest. If you look very hard u could find a bracket and do the rest urself. the only fab work then would be either the plumbing and well that is it. And I wouldn't really call a bunch of T-bolt clamps fab work. you could weld a bung for the return on the oil pan, like I did. Everything else is very SHO related. Injectors, FPR, and some other small misc crap. **** with a self-contained unit, it would be a weekend for a newb.

the only thing is at first vortech or most centrigual s/c'ers, it can be expensive at first. New go for 1800+ but used have been under 1000 easy.

Oh, and to the OP. Turbo requires 100% less supercharger.

I know you supercharged guys keep this a secret but what does the bracket look like and what are the dimensions?

No secret, but once they're installed, people don't like to take them out as it is a bit of work.

Here is a picture I have hosted currently. I do not have the deminsions, but I'm sure someone here does.

the bracket looks mostly like a flat 3/4" thick aluminium plate, with like a dozen different holes scattered all over it, some holes i beleive are machined so the bolt heats fit below the surface of the plate for clearance

its the kind of plate thats best to either have a cad file for, or another plate to directly copy. otherwise the hole layout is an exercise in laying out holes based on x&y coordinates or triangulating off other holes

Besides the actual head unit, belt, associated filters and supporting Mods, Is that pretty much the whole kit pictured?

It most certainly isn't aluminum. It is steal and powder coated. The mount has to be damn near solid and allow little to no flex. There are no machined recesses for clearance. The posts welded into place are to bring the bracket out and mate up with the stock parts.

For the most part, yes. The picture is missing clamps, a several bolts, spacers, MAF, injectors, pump, FPR, idler pulley, return oil line, head unit and I'm sure a few other things. It's the little things that take the most work and time. One set of oil feed lines/fittings in the bag is on Terry's old car.

I tapped the bracket with threads to get the most belt wrap I could with my idler pulley.
