With a can of spraypaint. :)

Judging by the overspray on the back, it looks like they just masked off the lenses and sprayed away. Do you know who's car that is?

Yeah that is Nik97's car.

98's came with the black surrounds IIRC as well. Search Ebay and you will see.

I have replaced both my headlights with LKQ auction 98-99 Taurus Headlights.

the outside strip is still gray..... thats what i want painted. tho i didnt notice the insides were painted do you have a full pic of the front of the car,my 97 is also sliver

anyone know how hard it is to crack the housings open? i was told b4 with the head lights on the tbirds that you put them in the oven at 350 for a few min and then they should peel open. and you use silicone or somthing like to seal them back up

thanks for your input guys!

.. what are you people talking about!? The outside "edge" of the lights were not blacked out AT ALL FOR ANY YEARS!

The part that was "black" was in the inside reflective surface for the 98?-99 years. The previous were chrome.

ThatShoGuy is talking about this:
headlight-skirt.gif

That part is just spray painted. It's very easy to do.. get some painters tape and have your way with it.

You you able to paint the inside? You also have to make sure the paint you're using can reflect well.

I don't think nik97 did.. he just "tinted" the outside lense.

you should be able to crack the lens open and paint the parts that are chrome something like this video

I used a vinyl decal to cover the "fluted" part. You can easily take the actual headlight bulb part out and deal with the lens and insides by removing 4 screws on the back side of the headlight assembly.

No. But take out the headlight and look at the back. There are 4 screw heads. Remove these and the entire reflector, bulb holder comes out as one piece.
