How much boost (or cfm) can the v8 take stock?

Never have heard how much the v8 motor can take, is it as strong as the v6? (Assuming a good A/F ratio and good tuning)

Thanks in advance.

From what I saw when I did the Cam Weld On my V8 SHO the Head's are a big bottleneck in the intake system. I mean the Ports on the head are like just a hair over an inch round or something. I mean they are small. Not what you would expect for a V8.

Determined by talking to an F/I V 8 guy that about 10 is about the most you can push it for safety reasons.

from what I read previously cylinder 5 had issues because it was the last to receive fuel from the rail the way it was designed so it kept leaning out. my memory is not the best but that is what I remember.

Its kinda weird though. Seems as if the only way for the fuel rail on number 5 to become starved with fuel would be due to a lack of fuel pressure or fuel volume. If the car is running and the fuel pump is on then if you are getting a consistent flow of fuel to the rail then how could 1 cylinder become starved? Someone else may have to explain why but the logic behind its tells me that if the pressure if sufficient then the rail should always be full of fuel. Does not seem to me that the injector would flow so much fuel it would starve the rail in a certain spot.

I wonder if you can split the rails like many of the boosted guys do on the V6 SHO? Would Josh's kit fit on a 3.4?

First off what do you mean splitting on a v6, I'm not nor have I ever heard of doing that.

Secondly, the guy I talked to, said number 5 was the problem so I concur on that.

Just remember that the fuel pressure will also now need to over come the extra pressure made by the boost to flow. Pressure is caused by resistance to flow, so if the flow is high and there is not enough flow for the last injector it may not generate enough resistance to flow to generate enough pressure to flow into the system.
