Today I drove a 2010 Taurus SEL . The cars that were being driven by me and about 15 others were of every trim except for the SHO. Some had Nav, Some didnt, Some were AWD and some were not. I drove it a good 120 miles today.

I won't say much as I don't want to get anyone in trouble.

BUT.

If the Normal Taurus is THIS GOOD the new SHO is going to be epic. This car is like no ford I have ever driven. As an all around car, The Ford Taurus is VERY GOOD.

I get to drive the SHO tommorow, I can't wait!

i'm going to guess he either was offering sex or he pulled a gun on them. I'd try both at the same time just to make sure.

Ford needed some help moving the cars around North Carolina/Tennessee for the press to drive them. Don Mallinson was contacted about it by Ford and posted a topic regarding the subject. I replied in a quick manner was got squared away. Only one other SHO owner was there (Out of about 20 people), A guy from VA with a beautiful Gen 3, However he does not post here hardly at all.

Back in Michigan ... again.
Nice!

If you get a chance, drive a car with the heated massaging seats. After a day of standing my back was *****... 100 massaging miles later and I had no pain

The car I drove was equipped with both. When I accidentally pressed the button for the Massage, I thought I broke it and that lumbar support was freaking out at first. Took me a minute to figure out what I did.

Hey Sam,
I need to correct you, there were three of us SHO owners out there brother! Remember the lady that was driving my Gen 3. hahaha It was kinda crazy that there weren't too many of us SHO owners sporting the cars. I was in the AWD Limited model and all I can say is WOW!!! And I don't know what we can say before we step into trouble either, but the cars are extremely nice! And for all the folks that are up in the air about the cars, you must drive it! To me the Limited AWD felt slow off the line but once going it was smooth sailing. If the SHO can make up for that then I'm down for one. Of course there are the normal quirks that can be disliked, but overall the new Taurus will be a force to be reckoned with. Like Sam I won't be able to sleep tonight knowing that I'll be rocking the SHO tomorrow!!:woo-hoo: ****

Sounds like a cool experience, I wish I had jumped on the ball sooner as I was too late getting in touch with Don by email rather than the thread. I guess yall aren't allowed to take pictures?

I was able to grab some shots but don't know about the postings of them just yet. I'm not able to download them anyway as I'm not home. Plus I wanna take some pics of Pinks this weekend too and post them up on my other forums. I hope to use my new camcorder too tomorrow. We'll see what happens.

Ya I drove a Limited a couple weekends ago. all options but nav and moonroof. First time I have ever driven an AWD car and really didnt feel any diff. Very solid car smooth ride, nice sound system. It really felt like you were in a (should I even say this?) a non american car especially a Taurus!! The fit and finish was far more tight then the MKS we had about a month ago! I will have to see if I can get a SHO next time!!

Doing the AWD models in the windy mountain roads there cobrakidd03 is where its at brother!! The FWD models are not so great I can tell ya all about that. :nut:Well guys, the SHO did not disappoint. Of course I stepped into a base model SHO with no special amenities, but my friend had a decked out one and another SHO guy there had the track packaged one. And the media folks before me that had it went off road with it, muddied up the passenger side and f-ed up the front rim!!!! They had no other rim to toss on there so that car was set off to the side and not to be reused they said. The SHO was much faster than the AWD Limited. Guess I'm going to be marching down to Ford and see about getting one once I sell some of my others SHOs. Of course folks will bicker about the SHO in some way shape or form but I am pleased with it and I'm sure anyone else who has been waiting for a nice car to leave the Ford lot with, this is the one. It may not be the fastest out there, but Ford has done a great job (I feel anyway) with the new SHO. And it surpasses all the other Generations I feel too. Lets see what Sam has to say about it once he hits home. :swing:

Heavy, yes it was very heavy. IIRC the sheet I have now of the specs says it weighs 4386. The other guy had the track packaged one and he said the steering was firmer which may have helped his out some. Personally, I dont mind it being heavy. It's not going to hinder me one way or the other. I'm not taking it to the track, or drag strip. Thats for my Lightning, not a 2010 SHO. It would be my DD and if my wife and I had to travel in comfort, and style, this is what I would take. From what I'm gathering from everyones opinions and my feelings, it you don't like the Gen 3, then you probably won't like the new Gen 4. The older Gen 1 and 2 performance seekers may not want the luxury and styling the Gen 4 may bring, but I think all should go and take it for a spin and draw their own conclusions.
