You sure its the 9.75. The clutch was weak. Slipped as all ****. Must have a been a ****** cheap clutch upgrade. Also the clutch is on its last life. Prob 6 mths later would be scraping metal. Thats good though, don't need the new flywheel. I wanted to take the engine out so I can change the power steering pump, and change an a/c line thats hard to get to with engine in.

So by looking at the pics, does the flywheel surface look ok? I'll be looking for a decent clutch online somewhere. Dont want anything extravegant. Just normal.

Think I should take the flywheel off and get the surface machined while waiting for the clutch I'm going to buy soon? Before it slipped pretty bad. Don't know if it was bad surface, or weak clutch.

Yes, always get the flywheel ground. I have a stock one you can have if you need it.

Get a stock clutch kit. I have a RhinoPak, which you can get from RockAuto for about $260 I think. RCM sells a LUK kit for $260, a Ford kit for $280, and a Zoom kit for $250. Do some research on the forum, but I think you'd be fine with any of those. If you don't have an alignment tool, you might want to get one that includes it.

I'm 100% positive that you have the 9.75" clutch.

On the flywheel, you should always resurface the flywheel during clutch replacement. You already know what you went through to get that transmission out... imagine having to do it again because your non-resurfaced flywheel ruined your new clutch.

On the clutch... get a southbend. I've had 3 in my car, 1 stock, 2 "OEM", and the Southbend. Southbend is the best one yet.

Would love to get southbend clutch, but looking at the prices of them, I don't think so. I'm looking for more $250 or lower. Seen some good deals on ebay for valeo and luk clutches.

hey nice craftsman impact driver, I got the same one in a 19.2 volt

I use the **** out of that thing, great tool

you can't go wrong with a LuK clutch, its not like you beat the **** out of it constantly like me, and my aluminum flywheel sends a lot more shock to the clutch hub and springs when it engages, so I really like how that part is upgraded on mine.......

I think thats what blew apart my pressure plate.....

with my pressure plate and clutch disc, I really did spend some money, I think I spent like 360 on it all in total shipped.... so between my entire clutch setup, with the new insert in the aluminum flywheel and ceramic TOB... I got like 750 in it......

Yes, its the 19.2 volt one, love that tool.

I think the luk sounds best to me. I also want to upgrade the TOB bushings. Need new motor mounts to. There freaking expensive. I think the sho in junkyard right now has a good front one, I'll check it out now. I took the ps pump from it, but didn't have strong tools with me to take off one of the 13m long bolts.

hey man just take it off for me and buy it then, who knows when they'll scrap the car, I dunno what their price is on it, but its pretty cheap junkyard, if its like 30 or 40 bucks, take it and I'll pick it up from you and add 10 bucks to the price this weekend, it would be saturday at the earliest that I could make it there, who knows if its still there

I got a nice ass reman altenator off that car for like 10 or 15 bucks, looked almost brand new... nice spare.....

let me know if you take it or leave it there, I'd sure as **** like to have that compressor!

there was also a gen2 MTX white car in the junkyard by Haverhill and I forget the name of the road, just south of Blue heron, maybe Dyer blvd.... across the street from that park at the dump.... west of military trail

it was in rougher condition, but had all the parts in it, who knows if its still there, that was a few weeks ago....

if u can't get up there let me know, maybe saturday I'll go check it out cause its real close to me house, maybe like a 15 minute drive.... I'll see if its got any good mounts or whatever u need.... how about a rod shifter?!? thats what u really need!

FWIW I don't think those PS pump bolts are 13mm... I think they are 12mm... maybe thats why you had a problem removing them, are we talking about the ones holding the pump to the bracket? there aren't too many 13mm fasteners on this engine, I think the only ones I've found where the rod cap nuts.....

let me know if you need any help putting your car back together, be cool if you can make the meet if at all possible.... we can slap it together and make it happen if u got off work

Just shoot some bolts through any mount and you're good to go.
