Pop lock n drop
Well, my P/S pump decided to explode on me during my 30 mile trip back home from a job site today. I figured it was gonna happen soon as the damn thing sounded like someone lit the fuse on its tampon. I found some really good step by step procedures on how to replace it. But I am curious if anyone has some helpful tips that would make this replacement go faster. Special tools needed? elbow attachments? Jack hammer and TNT?
What problems have you all encountered during a P/S pump replacement?
EDIT: The closest P/S pump is 4 days away in Denver, CO. :suicide:
Just my luck... I give my second car to my mother to use and leave myself with only the SHO and it ****** leaves me stranded.
LJRuddy's SHO problems list as of today:
blown P/S pump
crank cancer
wobbly crank pulley
front main leak as if the seal isnt even there
bad rear motor mount
broken tie rod
alignment issues
bald tires
sticky rear caliper that wont unstick even after new brake lines and caliper were installed
y pipe is leaking again; stripped stud... AGAIN
broken antenna mast = no radio stations
ninja coolant leak that i cant locate
this list is growing literally overnight!
WTF is going on?

The bearings on the pump were melted/missing.
