The Yamaha SHO engine is very good.

I have read a couple of 300,000-400,000 mile stories.

I got ******* lucky with my SHO. The engine still doesn't need a 60k tune up... original water pump and everything.

This is called neglect. Just because it's not "broken" doesn't mean you don't have to keep up with maintenance; the 60k service is called 60k for a reason, if your car is at 135k and haven't even had it's first 60k, it's far from "mechanically perfect".

To answer the OP's question, we all own and love (well some here do sometimes) this car is because of the engine. If the Yamaha isn't sitting in the engine bay, I wouldn't care for the Taurus at all.

I have kept up with maintenance. Belts and so forth have been changed, but the engine still does NOT need a tune up.
So no, it isn't Neglect, I just haven't had to spend money on getting the top 60k done.

Please don't shoot your condescending attitude towards me again :thumb:

Oxford:
neglect

• verb 1 fail to give proper care or attention to. 2 fail to do something.

• noun 1 the state of being neglected. 2 the action of neglecting.

— ORIGIN Latin neglegere ‘disregard’.

Webster:
Neglect
Noun

1. Lack of attention and due care.

2. The state of something that has been unused and neglected; "the house was in a terrible state of neglect".

3. Lack of care and attention.

4. The trait of neglecting responsibilities and lacking concern.

5. Failure to act with the prudence that a reasonable person would exercise under the same circumstances.
Verb

1. Leave undone or leave out; "How could I miss that typo?"; "The workers on the conveyor belt miss one out of ten".

2. Fail to do something; leave something undone; "She failed to notice that her child was no longer in his crib"; "The secretary failed to call the customer and the company lost the account".

3. Fail to attend to; "he neglects his children".

4. Give little or no attention to; "Disregard the errors".

You decide what's "neglect" and what's not. Apparently the dictionaries don't agree with you; I've even underlined the important points in case you still can't comprehend the meaning of this word.

Do you declare a 5 course meal done after finishing appetizer?

BTW, this post is condescending; last, not so much. :thumb:

Sig. says it. I bought mine with 335,***. I beat it's moral guts out until I broke my motor mounts. Now I'm really tame with it. The look of someone's face when they see the engine 5speed and the tach. It now has 350,***. I will be having the rod bearings changed this summer. They're not bad. I'm just kinda worried.

Ummm, the explanation makes perfect of sense to me.

Reason: per beth giving you this user id, you are only allowed to post about problems you are having with your car, not to comment

Guess you want to be banned for like the 4th time.:dig:

not to add fuel to the fire, but does this not make it clear:

you are only allowed to post about problems you are having with your car, not to comment

And it was made perfectly clear to you when you were given this user name that you were only allowed to post questions related to repairing YOUR car, and for that purpose only.

I realize you're probably the stupidest person on the planet, and have either apparently gone off your meds or are in serious need of some, but we're not going to go through this shit again.

Seek psychiatric care. Immediately.
