This part of the forum needed some updates, so here are some pics from my latest build, a 1989 dedicated track SHO.

The engine was built for a Pike’s Peak hill climb car, and now finds its home in my 89. Lots of custom bits. Most notably the CNC intake and LS top hat and one-off long tube headers built by ASP. With cams and lots of head work, along with a bump in compression to complement the increase in displacement, I’m betting this will be a 300whp NA Yamaha.

Recently replaced the front end, all new PS system, new front MC and fresh fluid and bleed for the front and rear brake systems and the hydraulic clutch. Fabbed up some new fuel line, opened up the phenolic spacers and gaskets to match the intake runners, then installed the lower and upper today.

Next update should be to show where I ended up mounting the DIS and where I made a vacuum source for the FPR.

For now, enjoy these pics:

That's pretty sweet. Aside from that tiny intake though. All the kids are gonna laugh at you, while you change out your spark plugs in 10 minutes...

I really want to print some phenolic spacers at some point. I really hope that the 3D files for them manage to find their way to the internet.

Is the PCV going to a catch can and a breather valve? Why not recirculate the PCV back into the new intake?

I don’t know anything about PVC. And I had a catch can, and that little filter, so I figured why not!
