Don't count on Performance Plus to run another group buy. I ran the Performance Plus Y-Pipe group buy a few months ago and they said they didn't want to deal with people calling in and complaining about when the pipes were coming in, or how much the exact price was (DUH), or how many more they were going to produce, etc, etc, etc. Everything went smooth on my end by sending them all out to everyone, but Performance Plus didn't want to deal with all that hassle anymore. It's a shame because they dropped $100 from the mtx and atx pipes.

SHO Shop did a group buy on their new Y-pipe not long ago too. So I don't think there will be a group buy on Y-pipes for a while, unless Shawn starts making them

To be exact, I ran the SHO Shop Y-Pipe Group Buy through SHO NUT Performance (Nick C. & Josh T.). We sold a total of 49 y-pipes. I wouldn't count on a Y-pipe Group Buy for a while.

I've heard a lot of folks knock the SS pipes; also someone mentioned they have a revised version. Is this right; are the new ShoShop pipes/cats better than before? If I can save $100 over PP it won't break my heart ;-)

I think people knock the SHO Shop more than their products. Even the PP y-pipe have had issues with bad cats, construction, and fitment. The SHO Shop has over 2,000 y-pipes out there of course there will those with problems.

Bad cats are usually the result of an ignition problem and/or unburned gas or oil. My SHO Shop y-pipe is over 4 years old and 30K miles.

The new SHO Shop MTX y-pipe is a true equal length system. Available aluminized (like mine) or Jet-Hot Coated with or without cats.

When did they start making the equal length Y pipes? do they use good cats? Are they available in stainless steel?

I put a clutch in for one of the forum members yesterday, and he had a catless version of the new SS ypipe. I've seen them on other cars, but never actually got to inspect one up close, work with it, etc.

To sum things up, if you gave me one I'd throw it as far away from my SHO's as I could. His had the jet-hot coating, hasn't been on there too long, and it already looks like it's been through 5 NY winters. Nice rusty covering, the "coating" is long gone.

Fitment is a pain. You are working with 4 pieces (if I remember correctly). In my world simplicity rules. Why make something so worthlessly complex? Getting to the passenger side exhaust stud, on the front manifold requires a swivel. A short socket has a hard time being deep enough, a deep too long, hits the pipe. C-mon...get real.

The PP pipe follows the OEM routing, uses higher quality material (T-304), installs easier, and it's 4 lbs lighter than the stock OEM pipe (haven't ever weighed a SS set-up with cats). Bad cats happen on any thing, including OEM pipes. We can all thank the feds for that.

My fleet carries the PP pipes exclusivly...
