I'm curious about what's involved with creating your'e own programs/adjustments using the SCT software. I spoke with one of the folks at FPS and he told me all I really need is the cable and to download the software directly from the SCT website. Is there additional software I would need? The reason I want to do this is to resolve a spark knock issue with my 93 oct tune. 91 is the highest available octane here in the Phoenix area and I was told this setting would be ok with 91 but it still knocks under WOT. I'd like to just back the timing off a bit and change a few other things. My other option is to send the tuner back to FPS and have Doug do it for me.

Any ideas? Thanks.

The free Extreme Tune software sucks and the big bucks Advantage is pretty limited in itself. Still with the Advantage v2.9+ software I can adjust the important things. But less than what the dealers have with v3.0+.

So can I adjust my timing curve with the Free stuff from SCT? Should I just send the tuner back to FPS and have them make an adjustment?

I don't really know, I suppose to some extent. Fuel is probably the real problem. I have not see yet where timing problems on the V8 SHO cannot be cured with more fuel.

I would not personally want to do anymore mail order tuning.
