Check to see if maybe your harmonic balancer is seperating. The outer portion seperates from the inner piece that connects to the crank. There is a layer of rubber between these 2 parts that wears out over time. I had the same thing happen to me when I had my ATX, it was chewing up serpentine belts.

Make sure all of your pulleys are in good shape and not seperating, breaking, or are on loosely. :thumb:

Anyone else have any ideas, as to what he might be dealing with here?

You are probably right.. i have had a terrible squeek/screech coming from that side and when i looked down at the belt/pullies they seem to be "off" of somesort IE.. wobbly, how do i check the rubber piece?

You can't really. It's pressed in the middle. You have to get a good eye on the crank pulley which means you'll have to pull it off anyway. Look for a cheap used one. I got one for my GenIII cheap from Dan Barbush a year or two ago. It was well used, but it works just fine. If the belt path is off and noticeable then you'll know it's the HB.

Try to get a head on view where you can see all of the pulleys "line up" with each other. You will probably have to remove the battery to see this. I would think you would be able to see something out of line and not just wobbling. The rubber is between the 2 parts of the harmonic balancer. The outer pulley of the harmonic balancer will move towards the lower timing cover, while the inner piece will stay where it is supposed to. If the outer has already moved inward, your lower timing cover might be damaged. But just look at it and see it for yourself if you have an issue there.

Well, I don't know about ATX's...but mine was caused by the PS pump and bracket not being bolted to the damn motor...but that's probably not it LOL

How's your motor mounts?
