Well, I've been battling with my AC for 2 weeks now. At first I just had a fast leak somewhere (All the freon drained in 1 day after a complete refill), but now my compressor stopped clicking on/ clutch stopped spinning.

First, is it anything but a leak fix/bad compressor? Second, where do I find a new compressor? They don't have them at AutoZone.

I'll be under my car this weekend. I just bought a new jack/jackstands/wheel stoppers/lugwrench/sled for 35 dollars at wal mart. They may not be the best parts ever made, but for 35 dollars you can't beat that deal. Anyone wants to stop by and tell me what I'm doing wrong, you're more than welcome ;)?

Sounds like a leak, if you didn't fix one it will be still there. Once you loose the charge you have leak no way around it.

Yeah, but the compressor should still click on and off if I turn on Max AC, even if there is a leak? I will fix the leak, but for the moment it won't even take anything in through the low pressure side (I bought UV Freon), so I can't find the leak. Maybe I'll just redo the whole system :p.

I don't think it will turn on if the pressure is too low. Its been a while since I've done A/C stuff though, so I'm not positive.

If the pressure is too low the low pressure switch will not let the compressor run. Are you charging the port at the firewall?

Yes, the port at the firewall.

So how am I to tell where there is a leak if I can't put UV dye in? I assume something this big may be visible. should I just start replacing things until it works :)?
