I would like a new paint job for my Black 93 ATX. I would like to get all the SHO emblems filles and all badges removed. Can anyone recommend someone in the NYC area (NJ,CT,RI,MA,PA) that does a good job? How much do you think this would run me?

Thanks.

Prices can vary on paint jobs greatly, and you will get what you pay for. If you want to save $, do your own prep work. You can remove your own badges and fill your own door dings or letters. It's not that hard, and will save you a good deal of $.

Contact 'JaySHOguy" here on the forum. He used to be a 'body man' and can give you better advice than I.

Or, I can just chime in here :)

If you don't know anything about doing bodywork, I would leave it to the pro's.

Skip the cheap paintshops like Maaco or the places that look rundown. Chances are that if the shop can't afford to keep a building looking nice, they can't afford to buy the better equipment for doing their jobs. Get several different quotes from other shops.

If you are going for a regular same color paint job, it will be cheaper. But, because you want the extra work done, be prepared to pay for it.
I would be expecting a price anywhere between $1200-$2000 for an OK paintjob, with minimal bodywork.
Good luck.

The body is in very good shape. There are a few tiny dings on it but hardly noticable. The black paint just isn't as glossy as I would like t to be and the rear spoiler is in desperate need of a paint job. The main reason for the paint job though is the owner before me decided to outline all the SHO emblems and the Taurus emblem in what looks to be blue paint marker. He also has nasty blue pinstriping on the car jpshakeh

How easy would it be for me to remove the pinstriping, they are decals not painted on

Thanks.

Before you runout and have it painted you should let a good auto detailer take a look at it. Painted on stripes put over the factory paint can usually be removed, and if the clear coat is OK than a good detailer can usually bring it back to a nice glossy finish. You may still need to have the spoiler fixed but that would cost a fraction of what painting the whole car would.
