Ok after a very surprizing discovery of about a quart of fluid oozing from my tranny in the parking lot of the Carefree McDonalds about 3 weeks ago I dug into the 9D1 Minus and did alot of stuff to it.
1 cracked casing due to those little diff pins (not the big one) easing out of their homes....hmmm probably from me driving it the way I do.
Replaced Tranny with my boxed up tranny I've had for years.
Luk clutch and PP with SHONUT TOB and fork bushings
Rear main seal and carrier gasket just cause I was there.
Here is where the project creep began. I had a leaky power steering hose from the rack change I did last year. It was driving me nuts but it was so hard to change (much like Eric's Focus starter) that I simply let it go. Well with the subframe off and the engine on a picker, why not just replace it?
Then there was the leaky rear cam seal that is a pain to change why not that too?.....well since I have the y pipe off, check a rod bearing....need a pan gasket for that too.
Well then lookie how easy it is to remove a control arm and replace the bushings while its out rather than later when its on the car? Might get rid of that annoying Rav like clunk in the front end.
In the end I spent not a whole lot of money to do thousands of dollars worth of work on the car.
I'm good for another 100k.
